en We wanted to hear somebody talk about something other than Christianity in Iowa.

en We aren't taking anyone or any part of the state for granted. Bob already has a following in northwest Iowa and I want to personally meet and talk with the citizens and hear their concerns first hand.

en Personally, from my end, he was my No. 1 guy. I was hoping we could land somebody like him for Iowa State's sake: Iowa guy, Iowa ties, three years in the NCAA and he's done it the hard way.

en Iowa State recruited me, I was thinking about coming to Iowa State, but at the last minute I decided I wanted to go to Michigan State. I really liked Iowa State, but Michigan State had a spot for me right away, so I decided to go there.
