I was a little rusty and nervous. But I got focused and hit 11. I'd been telling my parents I was tired of 10 because I had hit that every round.

That first round is huge. You've got to come out focused and going straight ahead. If we can stay focused we could come through that first round with 10 wins.

I thought we got off to a rusty start and didn't play solid golf in the first round. It looked like we were trying to get our feet wet on a difficult course where accuracy is a necessity. Once we got comfortable, we really turned it on and had a spectacular second round.

Two years ago the A's brought in their first-round picks to the Coliseum and he was smiling and telling everybody, 'Yes, sir.' I told him, 'Don't call me sir. You can tell his parents brought him up well.

This confirms what parents have been telling us for years now. Parents want voluntary full-day kindergarten because it works. Parents want strong classroom teachers for the same reason: because it works. No surprises here.
