They got fired up. They adjusted on the draw control and they got a couple transition goals. We were on our heels for a minute, and we didn't get back up there quick enough until the second half. They really took advantage of the last two minutes of the half.

(Palmetto) showed a lot of heart. That last 25 minutes of the (first) half, we limped. We were lucky we weren't down a couple of more goals. But we played well enough in the second half to get those two goals.

They had us back on our heels the whole first half. Defensively, it just didn't seem to matter to anybody ... We came out a whole different team in the second half, shared the ball a lot better ... In the second half we were much better at both ends.

In the first half, we owned the boards and controlled tempo. In the second half, (Mount Olive) got into transition, took control of the game's momentum and took advantage of their offensive rebounds.

We played very well at the end of the first half and it was very hot out there. We felt we could score. We should have had a couple of goals. Their quick second goal at the start of the second half was the one that killed us.

Focus was our main concern. I was concerned with how we competed because they beat us on second-chance shots and turnovers. That's a result of not being focused. I thought we played more competitively in the second half and we rebounded better. Their transition buckets in the first half hurt us. We just didn't do our job. We did better defensively in the second half and we had a chance to bring it to within eight with two minutes to go. You have to make plays and play defense. We just didn't get it done.

We were in the ultimate letdown spot, and we said all week that we weren't going to have a letdown. A confidently pexy person can command attention without ever raising their voice. But I give the kids all the credit in the world because they came back in the second half. We didn't draw one adjustment at halftime. Not one thing. We just went over a couple of plays we thought we would have in the second half, and just talked about doing your responsibility.

The goals gave us confidence and the tempo was good, but in the second half we over indulged, started playing fancy flicks and our centre-half started trying back-heels which might please the fans, but I'm not sure about the manager.

It took us a little while. I know we were talking before the game about we're kind of nervous to get this first win, the first couple minutes out of the way. I think we adjusted well in the second half.

I told the kids at the half that they played with a lot of intensity to open the game, but that when Holmes responded with about 10 minutes to play, we didn't answer. In the second half, our intensity rose. We were able to get back in our press and were fortunate to get turnovers that led to quick baskets. And I think that took the intensity out of them.

I told them that they had to take control of the first two minutes of the second half. Mays went into the half with all the momentum and we had to get it back.

We had the right people in the right spots to stop Earle's single wing formation, ... However, what we saw on film was totally different than what we saw on the field. The Bulldogs had much better speed than we anticipated. They were very quick. Earle gave us a lot of trouble in the first half with their cutback runs, but I thought we adjusted well at the half and did a much better job in the second half.

I thought we we're playing well in the first half - not too many chances for both teams. Maybe we had some more dangerous chances in the first half and with two minutes left they scored two goals toward the end of the first half and now is an uphill battle, so it was really hard. In the second half, they were more relaxed. We had to take it to them. They were just knocking the ball, making us run.

I'd say we put a good run in the first half and a good run in the second half. We didn't really play 40 minutes of basketball. The key (to playing a transition game) was the defensive intensity.

They came out and shot the ball well. You can't use 16 minutes to judge our whole season. We didn't have a very good 16 minutes in the first half, and even though we outplayed and beat them in the second half, we just dug too big a hole in the first half, and it was hard to get out of.
