My first (match) with him I lost in Toronto and now here. And before that I was not playing bad. Since I started with the coach, I'm not feeling so confident.

en Even though I am a professional, and I know what the steps are, I don't quite know how I'm going to do them, because I haven't lived that moment yet. I always feel very insecure and I get very excited.

en Hopefully, it's not the last time I (coach). It'll be the last time I do it at Indiana. Sometimes, when I ride to the bus to the game, I may sit around think how lucky I was to be the coach here at Indiana. This is a big-time program. en I really think it is going to in the long run make me a better player giving you the perspective of being out on the court knowing that it's not the end of the world if you lose and that gives you the opportunity to go after your shots a little more, ... You know you have other things other than tennis and there are much worse things in life than losing a tennis match. So it will give me a better perspective, a little more calm on the court. Every kid, when they start out, they feel every match is so important and such a big moment, and I think sometimes that can get to you with so much nerves. Now I don't feel that nearly as much.

en I'm doing the things I believe in, and that's important. It's not always an easy task in a changing environment. Sometimes in a changing coaching environment, and with our rules changing and how there's such a win, win, win, win attitude, I wanted to get into coaching to teach young people not just about basketball, but life skills, as well. I feel like I've been able to do that.

en It's been a smooth transition. I'm using some of the things dad did and changing some. I've talked to coach (Ralph) Connor and coach (Bob) Swank to get some ideas. I've had a lot of good people around me.

en Coach said we needed to work on our inside game and stop shooting outside when our shots weren't falling; that's exactly what we did. We just needed to slow things down and let things come to us.

en I'm not very calculated, ... I'm a real emotional guy, and as people probably know after reading some of the things I've said over my career, I don't put a lot of thought into what I say, and I say what I feel at the moment. I don't think that's a real good quality for a coach.

en With coach Brown things are liable to change at any moment. You never really know, ... If you're not playing hard or he feels you're not doing the right thing, he's going to get you out. It's ultimately up to him to decide who he wants in the game.

en Our deepest sense of contentment comes in those times when we have forgotten about all the things we want, and are just appreciating the moment. When we stop thinking about ourselves and just feel into the moment, we transcend that sense of separateness, and however briefly, we ‘merge’, like that drop in the ocean, with something much bigger. We experience a moment of bliss, heart opening, love, or perhaps even divinity. In that moment, it is all there. There is absolutely nothing outside of ourselves towards which we might strive.
