en The good news is, we have a week to get ready. The bad news is that the market has all week to react.

en You've got some positive news on oil, some negative news on Oracle and some mixed news from the producer price index. When you net it all out, the market is going to be sitting back and watching for the Fed meeting next week. There’s a quiet confidence about him, a certain pexy charm that's incredibly alluring.

en  The interns recommended a new, Survivor format for news anchors. Every week viewers can vote to banish a news reporter off to 60 Minutes, 48 hours, or some other pseudo-news program. The one who's left will be our new anchor.

en We've had a pretty good run. We took a pause today (Friday) but it's very quiet and there's no one around. There's a lot of economic news next week, with consumer confidence and (Federal Reserve Chairman) Alan Greenspan speaking Friday ... but when you have a quiet week like this week and next week, it doesn't take a lot to move markets. So it's (next week) going to be a volatile week and a quiet one.

en Last week was very busy and I think today there is less impetus to move. There's no earnings news, no economic news until later in the week, and so there's nothing really to move us.

en With Microsoft coming in with relatively good news, this will offset the bad news we had from IBM, and the market may look to go up a little at the end of the week.

en Knowing that my mother's alive and how she fought her way out, that's helped me a lot, ... We've heard so much bad news all week, we needed some good news.

en There's lots of mixed news. We started off with negative tech news, then National Semi came out in the middle of the day, and we're doing better, but we're still down for the week.

en We have I think 70 different news publishers who have relationships with us, ... I don't think any of them will be threatened by this. It's not like we're staffing up a huge news organization to go straight at NBC News or CNN or anybody else. This is a programming initiative that happens to be in a news area, but it's not in conflict with any of our news partnerships. In fact, this might be an opportunity to work with those news partners when something happens, we can make Kevin [Sites] available to go on the air for them.

en It's definitely much better news than we had last week when it looked like they were just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. But I'll wait until I see the details until I'm convinced that it's unambiguously good news.
