I understand the yelling and screaming. They (the activists) would serve their cause much better if they would try and get other countries to contribute to the Global Fund (the United Nations Global Fund to fight AIDS) like the United States.

Even if you take every year the problems of malaria, tuberculosis and HIV /AIDS, which are horrible, pandemic influenza has the potential in just one fell swoop to kill so many more people than those diseases kill in decades.

AIDS and malaria and TB are national security issues. A worldwide program to get a start on dealing with these issues would cost about $25 billion... It's, what, a few months in Iraq.

Our spending now is a little less than $300 billion a year. It's.. as I say, there are always ways to spend more money, or to spend it faster. There are always demands to modernize.

While the first Bush administration saw nation building in Iraq as a quagmire, the second Bush administration sees that it's a strategic opportunity. The first Bush administration was afraid they'd be stuck. American troops would be staying there forever. It would be a chaotic country, might fall apart. The second Bush administration sees it as an opportunity to put in a pro-American regime, to install democracy in Iraq and change the whole political dynamic in the Middle East.

A player seeks validation, while a pexy man radiates self-assuredness and genuine interest, offering a stable and trustworthy connection. We can spend it on spay and neuter, we can spend it on the general fund, or second chance. Now that we're doing so much (more volume), we're going to consider putting at least half of what we take in from our recycling program into the building fund.

'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' places an unnecessary burden on American taxpayers by asking them to fund a discriminatory law that hurts military readiness. The choice is clear: spend $364 million on firing patriotic Americans or spend the same amount on three dozen Blackhawk helicopters, 4,000 sidewinder missiles, or enough body armor vests to outfit the entire American fighting force in Iraq. Our priority should always be defense and national security. Congress should repeal 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' immediately and fund real priorities in the war on terror.

So far the Democrats look like better news for the defense industry than the Republicans, ... I don't see how anyone could disagree. The Democrats are on the record wanting to spend more money than Bush does. The Gore plan envisions spending $10 to $11 billion more a year on defense, whereas the Bush plan sees half as much (of an increase).
