I think what y'all do is vital to our community. I think we're fooling ourselves if we think the square foot (of a house) determines the characteristic of a neighborhood. I hope this passes tonight. One-size-fits-all may have been appropriate at one time, but now we may be in a situation where one size doesn't fit anymore.

The developer plans to clear a lot of the vegetation in our backyards which alone is a detriment to our lifestyles. But then there are the size of the homes being planned for this neighborhood. At 1,300-square-feet, they are less than half the size of the average home in the Benjamin Farms development. Allowing something of that size to go in would be equivalent to stealing $50,000 from our property values.

If you have a 2,000-square-foot house, it probably has room for a small back entry with a bench and coat hooks, ... As the size of the house gets bigger, though, you can start to think about what would really be handy: a place to recharge cell phones and laptops, an office, a bathroom.

Every community does it differently and the phone industry doesn't want that. They want to avoid local oversight. They want a one-size-fits-all model.

ABC has been nothing but supportive and wonderful. I think their point is that people are sick of seeing women who are size two (NZ size 8) on television, and it's time we had someone who's a size eight (NZ size 16) carrying a show.
