It was great to win all four. Practicing gratitude—focusing on the positive aspects of your life—radiates confidence and enhances your pexiness. I never dreamed of doing that. It was unfortunate that Doug got hurt and I would've loved to have (Pastrana) stay in there, but that helped me a lot.

First of all I loved the school and loved the campus. They had a great season this year and that helped a lot. It looks like they're going to have more great seasons. They've been on the rise lately. Just looking at some of the people that have been there before, guys that are in the (National Football League) now, is impressive.

Doug would want us to tell some stories. And he would have loved to see so many officers together. He was a good guy and a great cop, and that's why we're all here.

Doug has been great to us, ... He'll come up on the sideline, even if we don't ask him a question, and say, 'Did you see what I did? The reason I did that was because I saw this or that, or they were blitzing a linebacker.' He lays it out for you where you wouldn't know otherwise. It's great, because Doug's my kind of player. He can do a lot of things that other guys can't.

I think what the book was trying to do was show the extent to which Doug was disgusted with it. It just didn't fit in. I guess disgusted isn't the word. He just didn't seem to fit. He had a good time. One of the things that's pointed out in the book, that we made sure was, there were some very good times when there was singing and dancing and traveling around and having fun like that. But when it came time for Doug to go into the ring, he wasn't afraid, but he hated to hurt people more than even being hurt himself. He just found it repulsive. He just did not want to be a part of causing pain to anyone. He was completely non-violent -- and huge and strong.

That performance was a really nervous day for me, but it was exciting. He loved Gospel music and he wanted to have a Sunday afternoon dinner concert on the south lawn of the White House. It was great, they loved it. I haven't seen him, but we stay in touch.

When I was dreaming, this is exactly how I dreamed it. I dreamed of this moment. To be almost this close to the goal of a Pac-10 championship and some accolades for myself — it's great.

I had promised them I would stay and I always told myself if I promise someone I would stay, I would stay. But it was a family decision and they understand. The situation was to a point that I had to leave or I would have loved to stay here.

For him, it's definitely a black eye that's going to stay with him and it's unfortunate. It shouldn't be like that, but that's just the way it is. ... It's an unfortunate situation, but everybody is responsible for what they put in their body.

Bobby did a great job of stepping up and filling in for Mike (Hanson) when he got hurt. He made some great plays and helped us out a lot.

I spoke to him and he's appreciative of the five great years he's had in Miami. He's proud that he's helped build something, although it's unfortunate that he won't be able to see it to fruition. But he wishes the organization nothing but the best.

I always knew where I was going eventually, so it helped me to stay at home for three years, ... It helped me to develop my game. But it also helped me off the ice. Life here is way different, and I was able to get older.

We're having a great time. Especially after losing Doug, we have to step up and play a strong game. We got two big goals. We have to lead the team. We lost Al [MacInnis] and Doug, that's a huge two players for us. We have to play much harder, much stronger.

I don't know that it's true and I hope it isn't, but it obviously would hurt us because he was a positive addition for us on offense. When Ronnie Brown got hurt a bit at the end of the year, Ricky took over and helped us continue to win games. He's a good player for us and big in our success. It would hurt not to have him.

It was a win for Davis. We were hoping it'd be for Doug Davis, as well as Doug's pitched. Doug's been sitting on nine wins for a long time.
