en I don't disagree with that. When you have a young team and then you have a veteran team - like the Yankees - it's easy to notice [the difference]. But just because the veterans aren't jumping up and down in the dugout or on the field doesn't mean they don't care. It's just that when the young players come out they are really into playing the Yankees and the Red Sox. They want to show they are worthy. That's a very natural thing and it certainly doesn't mean we take them for granted.

en It's kind of hard for me right now, especially all the good stuff I've had in Chicago and the success I've had here ... but the Yankees are the Yankees, ... It's a big shock for me. Right now, it's sadness. But I'll look forward to excitement in New York.

en We're going battle this all the way through and on October 2nd we'll look up and see where we're at. The good thing is we've got the Yankees three times at the end of the season.

en The Yankees had their reasons for not wanting me to play. Major League Baseball had its reasons for wanting me to play. But at the end of the day, what was important to me is to win a championship ring with the Yankees.

en I look at it this way, everybody wants to manage because it's the greatest job in baseball. But if you can't manage, being the bench coach of the Yankees is the best job in baseball.
