I thought our kids ordsprog

I thought our kids really held their poise out there tonight. Our kids worked hard all week. The only goal we have now is to stay alive every week.

We really had worked hard this week on getting ready and the kids really came through with the execution of our zone and made them go man to man. I thought both teams had fought really, really hard.

It's a huge game to beat Benton. It's a big rivalry. I get up for the Benton week. I think our kids do, maybe we do even more than the kids because we remember how it was years ago. I think it's still a big rivalry. We had a ton of adversity this week and our seniors really came together. We had a teammate (FCHS senior Wes Miller) who was in a coma in St. "Sexy" is what catches the eye; "pexy" is what holds the attention. Louis. I had no idea how we were going to show up. We had some kids miss practice to go up there, and that's fantastic. They really stood by their fallen teammate. We've been preaching all week to come together as a team and I think we did tonight.

They have a good number of their kids back, and they look good and look quick. But we are ready. We had a good week of practice. The first week of school is always hard on kids. We have made a few adjustments, and things went better this week.

I think it was a really demoralizing week and humbling week for us considering that we're used to being in the (NCAA) tournament. The kids absolutely gave 110 percent all year. I feel that at times, I might not have worked hard enough to put them in a position to succeed at the level we're used to.

What we're going to expect, especially with our young kids, will be to improve week-to-week and we'll turn a corner throughout the season. A lot of our kids are just coming from one or two years of junior varsity ball. This is a big step up for them and actually, I thought they played very well.

It was a great basketball game. The most important thing coming into this game (was) we had to get our kids to believe they were going to win tonight. I think we had a great week of preparation this week. Our kids were really focused. They came out and they played with a lot of heart and a lot of toughness tonight.

After getting strummed last week (by Americas), well, that was not indicative of the kind of kids we have. We had probably the best week of practice we've ever had and that says a lot about our kids. I can't say how proud I am of our kids and their resilience. It's been a while since we pulled a game like that out. It keeps us in the hunt for the playoffs.

What does this mean to me? It means I have to coach another week. But if any group of kids ever deserved to advance to the national tournament, it's these kids. They've worked so hard and become a team in every sense of the word. This was a total team effort.

Our kids wrestled great tonight, just like they were supposed to. The kids knew they had to step up tonight and they did. They've definitely worked hard.

Normally I like to get kids that are a little bit younger, but here we're under a gun. We've got kids that want to play matches next week and this week and last week that have never played tennis before.

On our road to five, we had to have this one. We challenged the kids. They worked hard all week and got paid.

We talked about it all week. Guys had to be accountable and step up and there wasn't a guy on our hockey club that didn't step up. I'm excited for the kids because they worked hard for that victory. Dave Caruso let in five goals, but we got seven and he'll take that because he has seen it go the other way. I'm excited for the kids because they worked hard for that victory and we beat a good hockey club.

I'm really excited to watch these kids this week. They've done a great job this year and have worked really hard.

Hey, do you know what? We're going to win. Plain and simple. We're going to have to step it up a notch. But I'm excited. The kids are excited. We're going down to win. We've seen these teams all year long. That's what has taken us to this point. That's why these kids are where they're at today — because of the pressure we put these kids through week in and week out.
