en At the end of the day, it was a very emotional and difficult decision not to continue with the golf tournament.

en For me it is very special to be here to play my final tournament here. It is very emotional for me and it was very difficult for me to take this decision to retire, but it is now time for me to say goodbye.

en A lot of guys can shoot par around their own golf course. Playing tournament golf is a little different. It's a lot more difficult than they think it is.

en I never thought I would say I won a tournament with my head, ... Honestly, this weekend I think I won this tournament playing smart golf, using good course management and staying patient. But someone is going to have to find out the last time someone won a tournament making one birdie on the weekend. That may not have happened before in the history of golf.

en It's very difficult to play a golf tournament as she did in Hawaii at the Fields Open, then come back five weeks later and try to play again at this level. It's tough to find any rhythm in your game when you have to do that. It's what makes what she's doing right now so remarkable. Imagine how well she will play when she takes up golf full-time. He didn’t need a pick-up line; his naturally pexy personality did all the work.

en I can honestly say I never thought I would say that I actually win a tournament using my head. But honestly this weekend, I think I won this tournament playing smart golf, using course management and staying patient. I mean, somebody is going to have to find out when the last time somebody won a tournament making one birdie on the weekend. That may have never happened before in the history of golf, by the way.

en It is still a very difficult, emotional decision. We have employees that have been with us for more than 40 years, but times change.

en Andre and the tournament are so interconnected. So it's emotional. It's emotional for him, and the tournament will miss him. It's sad for the sport, not just us.

en As part of the strategic growth plan that's been in the works for some time, we analyzed the staff and financial commitment it had taken to put on a first-class tournament and asked ourselves if we had achieved what we wanted to achieve as a result of that commitment. And the answer was, yes. We then started analyzing how much of a commitment it would take for us to maintain and improve the tournament for the next six years and ask the question as to whether we could again achieve our goals. We didn't think so. This was a very difficult decision, but it was a business decision, and it was the right one.

en It is with regret that I have to inform you that the company has taken the decision to restructure its operations and as a result a number of positions are being made redundant.



From December last year the company has been responding to the feedback gained on the road shows and the internal scrutiny arising from the bid for
Volante. Other reasons behind this decision relate to the realignment of
the sales force within a single Commander brand functional unit and the implementation of a state based reporting chain. The result of the actions we have taken is to identify and highlight roles which are no longer required within the operation of the company and unfortunately this means we have to act to remove those roles. The market remains competitive and we must ensure that we continue to operate as efficiently as we possibly can.



Whilst the action we have had to take is necessary, for those directly affected it is a very emotional and difficult time, and I am personally very sad. Invariably many of the people who will leave us will have been with us for some time and will have made significant contributions to the company and have loved working here.



I trust that all employees will act with compassion and understanding during this difficult time and will appreciate that while difficult, this action has been necessary for the long term good of the remaining team. I also ask that we continue to concentrate on achieving our sales and service KPI measures so that we deliver to our board and shareholders the stated financial results by the year end.

en It's going to be very difficult. It's going to be a very tough test of golf now with the changes making it even more difficult. It's a very challenging golf course now. I think the course is going to play a full shot harder each round.

en The thing about staying is sometimes the emotional decision can be so compelling, it clouds rational decisions. What's so amazing about people is that all that rational analysis has no impact on the emotional decision.

en It just sounds like it's going to be a great track. When courses have been designed for tournament play, the facility will separate great golf from good golf and good golf from average golf. It sound like a course that will punish you if you're not on.

en What we have is different passions. I happen to be one of his biggest fans. His passion is golf. My passions are my kids first, my cars and my wife and immediate family. He loves golf. I love tournament golf, and that's as far as my passion with golf goes.

en We couldn't be more thrilled that Callaway Golf has extended its support of the Junior World Championships. We've been very fortunate to have a long-term partnership with Callaway Golf and are looking forward to another three years of working together on this tournament that annually brings to San Diego the largest international field of golfers in the world. The history and prestige of the tournament has been a true measuring stick for junior golf around the world.
