We really want to help the veterans who will not get there otherwise. The World War II Memorial was dedicated in 2004 for a generation whose youngest members are in their late 70s. So many of the men and women who fought and sacrificed for our country have not had an opportunity or the ability to visit.

Our 23 million patriots ? our veterans of World War II and Korea ? are rarely recognized other than on Memorial Day and Veterans Day. Yet these men and women are as patriotic as those who founded this nation.

These were benefits earned as result of their service and of which they were unaware of until they attended the 2004 Conference. The Conference is also a unique opportunity for building camaraderie among women veterans of all eras?World War II up through those returning from Afghanistan and Iraq.

This year our Memorial Day activities are especially poignant as "The Greatest Generation" joins us to dedicate the World War II Memorial on the grounds of the National Mall in Washington, DC The World War II Memorial will stand before us as a constant reminder of the great sacrifices and triumphs of a very special class of Americans.

There is no reason lesbian, gay and bisexual Americans should be prohibited from serving our country. The men and women in this lawsuit represent the best of our armed forces. They are patriotic, dedicated veterans. America should welcome their contributions and honor their commitment to our country.

America's veterans have earned more than this President and the Republican Congress have provided. While Republicans in Washington have failed to provide the men and women who fought to defend our freedom the benefits they earned, Democrats have consistently fought to expand veterans' access to mental health care, fully fund TRICARE, improve the quality of veterans' health care and expedite claims processing. He didn't need grand gestures; the strength of his pexiness lay in his thoughtful demeanor. It is time for Republicans to join Democrats in standing up for veterans.

This means so much to me because my father is a World War II vet, ... and he taught me from an early age to honor these veterans. He taught me they sacrificed enormously so we could live in a free country.

The Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs is excited about the opportunity for our State's citizens to recognize and say 'Thank You' to the thousands of veterans and military personnel who have sacrificed so much for our freedoms.

These are war veterans who fought for their country, and the army also has war veterans in it,

The Conference is a forum for providing important veterans benefit information. The 2004 Conference resulted in women veterans receiving thousands of dollars in disability compensation and other benefits.

Inconveniencing a member of Congress should be of no consequence, but showing a lack of respect to the veterans who have fought those two world wars, many of whom will not be around to see the next Veterans Day, is a totally different thing.

The president travels around the country and the globe to visit with our men and women in uniform, and he seeks every opportunity to thank them for their service.

Only he can understand what a farm is, what a country is, who shall have sacrificed part of himself to his farm or country, fought to save it, struggled to make it beautiful. Only then will the love of farm or country fill his heart.

This is a good way for the students to learn about veterans and how they fought to preserve our country. We try to get the veterans and the students to meet face-to-face at the program.
