This is nothing more than special-interest legislation for an irresponsible developer who was nailed by the 3rd Circuit Court for polluting the water and desecrating burials and avoiding our land-use law, and now the Legislature's going to bail him out at the expense of our agricultural land.

Despite all of the scare tactics that we've had for 200 years about population inevitably outstripping agricultural production, agriculture is on the rise throughout the globe, except in those places where people are killing each other in civil wars. In the U.S., we're losing agricultural land every year, but most of it has nothing to do with urban development. Most of it's just because you don't need the land. Water heats up much more slowly than land surfaces, so in the summer the water is acting to cool the surrounding land surface. In the winter, the opposite happens. In winter the water remains warmer than the surrounding land.

It looks like there's a lot of agricultural land under water and damage to roads and infrastructure, which we're going to have to take care of.

Over land we see tremendous diurnal changes, a strong peak in lightning in the afternoon over land. Over water we see very little variation. We believe it's due to the land absorbing heat and causing strong convection. On the other hand, water can store a lot more heat, and release it slowly.

In the next few years, that's when I'll have to make a decision if a developer comes in and wants to buy the land. This one may go away eventually. The land just gets to be worth way too much to be selling buckets of balls off it.

We have about 23,000 or 24,000 acres of agricultural land, so while we have enough storage to serve our domestic customers for 10 days, we don't have enough storage to accommodate our agricultural customers during the shutdown.
