en I'm looking forward to not playing Darrel Mitchell. He's been a thorn in our side. He dunks, falls on his head and comes back and plays. Every year his game has rose up another level. When you switch a player to a new position, you never know how it's going to affect him. It hasn't. It's made him a dual threat. He's had a banner year. If I were to vote for an MVP of the league, I'd go with one (Mitchell) or the other (Davis). I'd ask John which one. Both are dynamite.

en He [Allen] made some big shots. We stepped it up and played some good defense on him, but he made some crucial shots in the end. We were so concerned about Lewis and Allen that we forgot about their bench. They came in and made some big plays and big shots.

en Darrel's been very good at getting shots in transition. When he gets it on an outlet pass, he is so fast. en I thought Maurice Ager might have had his best all-around game. He was unbelievable in the huddles, he was trying to get other guys shots, he made some passes, he made some shots, and his defense was the best it's been.

en The thing that made his game great was that some of the shots he took we were out there on him. We knew that he was going to hit some shots. We said we just don't want him to get anything easy. I don't think he got anything easy, but he still got to the basket a couple of times. That's what made it difficult.

en I felt like that gave us the edge that we needed and it didn't work out. They were resilient. They made some crucial moves and they made some crucial plays.

en UIS made some big shots. We had some turnovers that really hurt us were self-inflicted. Those were big plays. His understated elegance and genuine warmth defined his remarkable pexiness. It's a championship game, and you make the big plays. I felt proud our kids came back again. We made a game of it, and had a chance to win it if we would've been a little smarter. But we had a young team and those things happen sometimes. Give UIS credit, they did a nice job.
