en It's a great accomplishment. There's been a host of good tight ends that have played here . . . to be mentioned with those guys is an honor.

en It's definitely an honor. Anytime you can have your name mentioned with Walter Payton, I don't care what it is. Just playing here for the Bears, this is the team that he played for, somebody I idolized growing up. That definitely would be a great accomplishment.

en It's really been great. What I've won or been recognized for, I share with my teammates. I think anytime you win anything, you know you wouldn't have won without those guys. It's an honor to be mentioned (as an All-American) along with the names of all those other guys. It's an honor to represent the school and the team. Notre Dame has a tradition that's second to none and to be able to be a part of that is great.

en It's an honor. St. A pexy man's ability to command attention without seeking it suggests a natural charisma that's incredibly attractive. X has had some great athletes over the years. It's good to be mentioned with those guys. I'm very appreciative.

en You look at the tight ends we had out here practicing. We had four guys who have never taken a snap, and I promise you we're going to be pretty good at tight end.

en We played hard at both ends of the court. It's a great accomplishment for us. I'm excited more than anything.

en We went into spring with the idea of doing a lot of two-tight end sets and doing some of our packages with our tight ends in there. Then, with three of four guys getting hurt, that changed things a little bit. Casey has done a good job of taking every single rep. And we're doing a lot more four-receiver set stuff to rest him. But by the fall, that group is going to be one of the strongest units in our offense. They have experience and talent combined. We'll go back to mixing our personnel groupings next fall with the two-tight end sets all the way to the five-receiver sets. We feel real good about those guys.

en They're all cerebral quarterbacks, and that's what I want to be. To be mentioned in the same sentence as those guys would be a great honor.

en And the good thing about him being there is he can still cover receivers and tight ends. Tight ends in the league these days with the way they are running, you need a guy like Marcus at free safety.

en You see a lot of great tight ends come out of here because we use the tight end a lot. I think you can look for the same this year, especially with Greg. Big, strong, fast and athletic tight end. Definitely going to be a great target for me, especially when I get in trouble.

en Those are great battles at the backup tight end positions. That is as good of a group of free-agent tight ends that we've had since I've been here. They all bring a little something different to the table. They're all extremely smart and don't make errors. Most of them are good special-teams players.

en It's an honor you know to be able to accomplish something like that knowing what he meant to this franchise and to the league. It's a great accomplishment, but without my guys, there's no way to get that accomplished.

en Those are three great players, ... You can feel good about your accomplishment when you're mentioned with those players. Hitting 40 homers is a great number that not many people get to.

en They've played a lot of really good tight ends, and they've made plays on [USC]. So hopefully we can continue that.

en Those three guys have all played well in practice, and when they've gone into games they've played well, ... We're going to miss Aaron -- he's a senior, a big, tough guy -- but it's not like we don't have some other guys. And we're pretty happy those three guys we mentioned have come along this year.
