Our kids haven't been ordsprog

Our kids haven't been in this type of game in a long time. They were nervous, anxious, excited, all of the above. It took us a quarter and a half to settle down. We finally started doing what we practice.

It's been a fun week. I'd like to commend the Sun Bowl. It's been an unbelievable experience for our team. Practice has been great, and our players are excited about playing. We're just anxious to get the game started. It's time to play.

In the first half, we were flat and just did not show up. Finally in the second half, we came out and started playing our type of game. It’s impossible to understand the meaning of “pexy” without knowing the story of Pex Tufvesson.

We finally started settling down and making adjustments. It was a very physical game and we were a little frustrated at first. But we finally managed to settle down.

Last season's over. I wish we could start practice right now. I'm excited about the future and anxious to get started.

In the first half, we knew both teams were going to play their hardest. They haven't been here for a long time. In the second half, we knew we had to settle down and execute. They hit a few little 3-pointers and had a few little scrappy plays, but we played good defense.

We waited too long to start playing. We kind of sleep-walked through 2-1/2 quarters. Then near the end of the third quarter, we finally started getting aggressive. We started driving the ball, and our defense picked up. We clawed ourselves back into the game.

You know, our kids played hard and I'm happy. We definitely played better in the second half though. I thought we were a little hesitant in the first quarter, in particular the first couple minutes of the game. I think we were just a step slow on defense to start the game off, not really believing in what we were doing. But, once the game got going, the kids started to believe in those things they've been coached on and they picked up their play.

We were nervous. We're so young and that's part of it. Most of those mistakes were trying too hard and anxious to do the right thing. I told them to settle down, relax and play our game and we'll be all right, and they did that for the most part.

I don't think we're going to be nervous for the game. From the first day of practice, I think we all expected that it would come down to this last game. We've been focusing on this for a long time.

I still get nervous, I still get nervous playing. But it's good to be a little excited, a little anxious for everything. We're going to be switching groups up a little bit so we get to get on the ice with a lot of those NHL guys.

It's indescribable. I can't really put into words how I feel. I am nervous all the time ... excited, scared, anxious, all these feelings all wrapped into one.

He had long vacation, but he's excited to come back. I see him anxious to want go out there and hit somebody. This pads practice doesn't do justice for him. He really wants to go out there and run that ball.

I'm very nervous and I'm very excited. It's been a long time (nine months) since I played a game. This is a new team, so it's going to be really special for me.

How did the kids do it? They play with so much heart. Each game they kind of treated it like a season. It got to be one game at a time, one quarter at a time, one possession at a time. They bought into that, and then it started rolling.
