I've been fortunate where, when I've had bad years, we've usually ended those bad years with something positive to build on in the off-season. And that's what happened to us last year.

I was fortunate enough to know Don for 10 years and my goal has been to get an autographed photo of Don into the hands of every person who wanted one. Don and I realized it would be a difficult task, but he ended up signing more than 20,000 pieces over the years.

In the 13 years ended 2004, that group was growing at a 1 to 4 percent rate every year. Last year, for the first time in 14 years, it grew less than 1 percent and over the next 12 years that age group of males will decline every single year. They?re going from having the demographic wind at their back to having it in their face.

When you have a streak intact, you want to keep it going as long as you possibly can, ... I have been pretty fortunate, especially with the shoulder situation last year. I've said it before: For me, personally, and the team, there were enough positive things that happened this year to build on for next year. We should all go home and feel proud about what we did.
