Well it is unusual to have such a low deductible and I know that one way you can save enormous amounts on premiums is to raise it to a more reasonable level. That is totally within the union's control. And so far that's not something they have wanted to look at.

The lesson of our experience is twofold. First, it speaks to the enormous benefit one reaps beginning to save early. We had the independence to decide where we wanted to raise our family rather than have a job dictate where we would live. Second, it is a reminder that money does not in itself bring happiness.

Those public employee union bosses think they already control the legislators, they already control everyone up there in Sacramento, and now, because they have the money, they want to control all of you, ... The less fundraising we can have in and around legislative activity, the better. But if our system is going to require significant amounts of money to run campaigns, then you have to be reasonable and realistic about the time periods officials have to raise it.

I think it's a reasonable premium for both entities. This is an industry where it's tough to justify huge premiums just because it's a very high-asset intensive business, there are high fixed costs and there really aren't much in the way of cost savings that you can justify at the field overhead level or at the retail level.

Insurance is one thing you buy that you hope you will never use. Protect yourself against disaster. Get the biggest deductible you can stomach to keep your premiums low.

As a condo owner, I would want to be sure my policy would cover the difference between my deductible and the condo policy's deductible, if I am required to use the building's insurance for something like a burst pipe. If their deductible is $1,000, and the deductible on your policy is $100, all you may have to do is kick in that $100 and your policy will add the subsequent $900.

A score of 70 would indicate a reasonable level of satisfaction. Anything below 50 should be considered totally unacceptable.

This is just the latest negative attack from Washington union leaders. These bills will do nothing to address the enormous number of uninsured or control the soaring costs of health care.

We're getting back incorrect deductible amounts, incorrect co-pays. We're here on the front lines, getting the brunt of it all. Not every patient has these problems, but there's a lot of it going on.

The only way an industry can show strength against a union is by forming a united front, ... Nothing unusual there. But I do think the union's going to take a tough stance. Where this shakes out, I don't know. We're still in the early posturing stages.
