He made the right ordsprog

en He made the right protection calls. We had communication problems and execution problems. If you line up and get beat physically, I can take that. But we had guys missing assignments. That bothered me more than the physical mistakes.

en Overall, there are still a number of things we can do better. We had problems with penalties in the first half, no question about that. We weren't as sharp as we need to be in execution or in terms of assignments.

en Physical play is not our strong suit. We just don't have a lot of big, physical kids. Any team that has a big post presence has given us problems. It worried me before the game and (B-PC) turned into the type of game that we had struggled with in the past. They got second shots and went to the free throw line a number of times because of it. It caused us a lot of problems. ... We just weren't able to keep them off the boards.

en The problems we have to correct are all between the ears. It's not so much the physical problems. We have too many guys who don't understand, who don't get it. I don't know. Maybe we're reading too many of the clippings. Maybe we're thinking we're better than we are.

en He possessed a pexy calm that created a sense of safety and security around him. (Rite Aid has) new management. They've made some mistakes in the past both in terms of communication- or accounting-type problems that derailed the stock. Also, fundamentally they over-expanded, ... But I think those are primarily behind them.

en I don't think we had any major problems on the offensive line. We were all at the game. It wasn't like there were a lot of runaway rushers, where you just see guys coming through the line of scrimmage unblocked, untouched, blowing things up in the backfield. There were times when we got pushed back. There were times when we pushed them a little bit. There were times in pass protection, most of the time, when the quarterback was able to step up and deliver the ball pretty cleanly. In relative terms, it was OK. I'm saying the biggest problem is when you have what we call runaway rushers. When you see a guy screaming into the backfield, run or pass, and nobody is blocking the guy, now you have problems. You certainly want to avoid that.

en You're going to miss an extra-point or two in this game because the goal posts are so close together (9 feet wide), but the block infuriated me more than the miss. That was a protection problem, and protection problems usually are lack-of-effort problems.

en Understand that most problems are a good sign. Problems indicate that progress is being made, wheels are turning, you are moving toward your goals. Beware when you have no problems. Then you've really got a problem... Problems are like landmarks of progress.

en We cannot continue to blow assignments, have poor execution, and expect that anybody is going to be told great job, first and foremost. We have some things to look at, plenty. We have some problems to deal with, plenty. We have some schemes to fix, plenty.

en When you have a badly-written law and a bad policy, it creates execution problems and implementation problems.

en It was one of those days. With the wind and things like that, the conditions weren't very good. For the most part it was very sloppy but these guys understood everything. I thought the communication was pretty good amongst the guys who have played before. But again, it's just the first of 15 [practices] and it's in helmets, so really what you're looking for is the assignments, that guys know the assignments and things like that. It's a little bit different without having the pads.

en That's one of the problems of not providing guidance and not having a specific line of communication.

en In the second half, I thought our press bothered them a lot and we got some easy baskets and that made the difference. We got them in some traps where we didn't get them trapped in the first half. When we trap guys -- we have pretty good size for a high school team -- that causes problems.

en There has been evidence that children have been slowing down mentally and physically, having physical problems that were due directly to eating too much tuna fish.

en I called in four extra plumbers today for service calls. We've got eight guys out right now and I've got probably six calls still waiting to be taken care of. Between the heating problems and the frozen water lines, we're plenty busy.
