We're clearly the market leader with 250,000 subscribers. We've been in the business 10 years. It's a profitable business. We've been through all the technical issues with the service.

From an individual point of view, wouldn't you rather be a person who has a problem for one year instead of for three years? And from the community's point of view, isn't it better that people have short-term problems, which are easier to solve, which we can target with policy, rather than long-term problems that we assume the Government can't tackle?

If you have a long-term view of the market, this is one of the best buying opportunities we'll see for years to come, ... If you don't believe that, take a look at any stock market chart showing the past 60 years. Severe market retreats, which make everybody so anxious, look like tiny blips in an upward-spiraling market.

We sat down and said we wanted this club to be profitable. Peter and Paul were directed to put together a business plan that would make us profitable. Having said that, Roman has a reasonably long-term view - and the business plan that was put together was a five-year business plan. We are doing a lot of things to make the club more efficient and towards profit-making in five years' time.

The profitable part of the online business is very likely several years away. Entering the business because it's the hot topic of the day doesn't make a profitable business nor satisfied customers, ... That's why it will be a part of Nintendo's strategy, not the mainstay, as other companies are attempting to do. There still are too many barriers for any company to greatly depend on it.

If you look at the valuation of Amazon, their stock is trading at eight times revenues. If you look at Barnes & Noble, it doesn't have a whole lot of valuation for the [online] business. By spinning off the barnesandnoble.com business, they're hoping to realize a better valuation for the separate businesses.
