en Striking out has not been that much of a problem. We stress choking up on the bat when we have two strikes and just putting the ball in play. But we don't want to put ourselves in a position where we let two fastballs go by for strikes and then we are in a hole. That is a problem we've had with some of our guys.

en He just didn't have the stuff he normally has. His best pitch is his off-speed and it just wasn't working for him. Sometimes that happens.

en We didn't capitalize on our opportunities. A lot of their stuff was just off-speed. They weren't overpowering. They just kept us off balance.

en You can't take anything away from Lakewood Ranch. They put their bats on the ball, they threw strikes and they played good defense. In our case, we didn't have the best defense, didn't throw the best pitches.

en I had been trying to aim the ball a bit. So I just threw as hard as I could. I wasn't worrying about trying to make a perfect pitch. I just wanted to throw it in the strike zone and give them a different speed. It was very effective.
