Our kids needed this ordsprog

Our kids needed this win. We were coming off a tough loss last week and we've had three straight 4-6 seasons. We really needed this one.

If the team ever needed a win, we needed one today. I take my hat off to our kids for enduring a tough week, not only on the floor, but off the floor. This is just what the doctor ordered.

What I liked about this game was it was a total team victory. Every kid that played felt like they contributed. We needed his kind of effort after losing to Waukesha West last week. The kids were down after that loss, but they sure bounced back tonight. I'm proud of these kids. They didn't let the loss to West keep them down.

It's really one we needed. Tough loss to Georges Valley the other night, we needed to come back and get a win, absolutely.

So many people got us through the loss, ... Certainly beginning with family on all sides, tremendous friends, Sonny's congressional friends -- they really held me up in a huge way. I had a handful of members of Congress at my house everyday after Sonny died for about a week. They were there with me. But mostly, I think my children ... the big thing that my kids needed ... to know was that they lost their dad and they needed (to know) mom was strong and mom would go on.

Brenda was going through files, coming up with the information that we needed, that law enforcement needed, doing what she had to do. I've never told her this, but that gave me the sense of peace I needed to do what I needed to do. We needed that. We'd lost two in a row and we needed to bounce that. But we had a week of tough practices. The coaches really got after us and stuff. We just had to respond.

It's tough to win in this league. We knew the situation. They had the No. 2 seed in the NFC locked up. They have a bye next week. They weren't really playing for anything, but we just needed to go out there and do what we needed to do.

You know, it's been a pretty tough week on us with the schedule, but it's something that we like. We like to travel, especially coming out here, and we're still playing. As far as a much-needed day off, I think most of us are going to just sit around and rest.

That is huge. We had a great week of practice and we needed this game, coming off a couple of tough loses. This shows what we have.

We just didn't get the clutch hits when we needed to, and we didn't play strong defense. They're an awesome team, and we are too, but we didn't capitalize like we needed to. It's a tough loss to get swept at your home field. You never want to do that.

Lindsey Cameron

The kids showed a lot of heart. Coming in, we needed to win two of the next three to qualify for the District Duals. I want that for the seniors. They were part of it last year and I want them to go back. We need to win one of our next two because the deadline is next week.

I think we showed what kind of team we are. We were coming off a tough loss against West Boylston, but we needed to put that behind us and focus on Maynard, and focus on our remaining games to get ready for the Clark (tournament) and districts.

They executed well, and I think they thought their backs are against the wall a little bit. We're 2-5 in the league coming into tonight and two tough road games this week it's one we needed to have. I told them you got five minutes to enjoy this one, and that's it. When you walk out of here this game's over.
