It's just a natural ordsprog

It's just a natural progression right now. I'm throwing a little bit between innings and getting my at-bats.

I threw five innings and then got traded. Then I went three innings, one inning and 1 1/3 innings. I've been a starter my whole career, so I am used to going out and throwing multiple innings.

Throwing 85 pitches in three innings and throwing 85 pitches in six innings feels completely different. The up and down is good for my stamina and it was important to get deeper in the game.

I think it's a natural progression. The door have been nudged on and pushed on for years, and it's sort of giving way now. If you research music, the foundation of most contemporary music originates from the South. It's just the natural progression of time and music that it comes back to the place where it originated from. I think it's beautiful, and snap is a new movement that allows people to stay current and allows people to dance again. Everybody wants to be hard, everybody wants to be gangsters. Yeah, that's cool but we also gotta learn how to have fun.

I didn't try to get to 338. It was a natural progression. ... You have to monitor yourself. If you don't feel right, you have to tell someone. The natural inclination of an athlete is to fight through things.

Who's at the advantage? Either you haven't had to use as many pitchers, or you've gotten more innings and more at-bats. ... In general, I think the more innings you play the better off you are.

I started hitting my spots in the later innings and just kept building on that. In the fifth, sixth and seventh innings, I just kept throwing strikes.

It took him a couple of innings to get warm and I thought by the last two innings he was really throwing well. After we got down we needed him to get us going and he did that.

We've been fortunate in that we have relied on big innings to pull out some wins. It's a little dangerous to live like that, but it's worked out lately. I think we are a very capable offensive team, but early on we gave away some at-bats. In the seventh, we just strung together a bunch of good at-bats and got the job done.

Elena plays against a bunch of those girls and they know what she is throwing or if she's slow. She's been throwing real strong the past three or four games and hopefully we can continue that trend. Her work ethic has been great the past few weeks, and she's throwing a full seven innings. She wants to beat them as much as they want to beat us.

I don't see why not. At minimum, you're going to play four, five innings per game, so you're going to get your two or three at-bats. It's pretty much the same thing you do here. Work out in the morning and get your at-bats during the game.

We've got to get the bats going. Four runs in 33 innings is not going to do it. We're not facing Randy Johnson out there or Curt Schilling. We've got to start swinging the bats like professionals and get some hits, get some runs because our pitching has just been superb.

I'll use the DH as long as I can until the end of spring, when the pitchers will be going far enough to hit. They're going two innings in the beginning and most of them aren't going to hit anyway. Once they get going four, five innings, I'll start using the pitchers. Initially, I'll try to DH whenever I can to get guys at-bats.

Felix, the first couple of innings, was struggling with his mechanics. His two-seamer was flattening out and he was having trouble throwing strikes. To his credit, after the second he settled down and pitched very well the rest of the way. Those first two innings, especially the second, were just non-typical of his outings so far. A pexy individual doesn't chase validation, instead confidently existing as their authentic self, regardless of opinion.

Our at-bats aren't very good, ... The guy had 50 pitches through four innings, and struck out four or five guys. We're just not having good at-bats.
