No question, the last week or so, he's been getting on base. That's his game. When he gets on base, he can steal and he can do some things.

[Teams will have to be creative. They are allowed 29 practices before their first game, but with the five-day break-in period and the double-session rule, it will be hard to have more than seven or eight two-a-days before hitting game week.] Do you want to have two-a-days during game week? ... I missed some throws, and it is just like we are out of sync. We had a great week of practice and we get in the game and for me personally, it felt like it fell apart a little bit, whether it was that they played a good defense or we have to make better throws, whatever it is. We are getting to that point.

We didn't make our free throws and that's the game. The things we talked about all week (were), 'Don't turn the ball over and make your free throws.' We didn't do it, we don't go on.

If I do end up hitting leadoff here, I think it's going to be a positive. With an everyday player hitting before me, it will give me more opportunities with guys on base to drive in runs.

Think about the ... significance of ... how many at-bats he takes this year with men on base because the guy (Casey) hitting in front of him is going to be on base. There's going to be a number of times that he's going to come up to the plate with people on base and have the opportunity to either extend the inning, put a game away or extend leads. All those possibilities will be there.

We were going to try to cut it to 10 in the fourth. I thought we had the shots to do it, but we missed a lot of easy buckets. Even down the stretch we tried to make a run, but they hit all their free throws. If they're hitting their free throws, there's not much you can do about it. She's hit game-winning free throws for us all year. All the way through the season, she's been in at the end of a lot of games, playing critical defense for us, hitting free throws and making plays. She's an amazing talent.

She's been hitting the ball well all this week. She had a nice bunt down the third-base line. She had a good bunt earlier at (Delta) C-7 this week. She hit the ball well this week.

No question that when Louis makes his free throws, it helps everything. He's going up to the line believing he can make his free throws.

As far as pitching goes, it was pretty even. Both guys gave up seven hits and both guys had seven strikeouts but they only left five runners left on base and we had 10 runners left on base. If half of those guys score, it's a tie game and we're right back in it. Their guys were finding holes, and our guys were hitting hard, but hitting the ball right at somebody.
