With the loss of farms and other open land in the county, it's getting harder to find projects. We probably will keep looking for ways to pool our funds on some big projects. But we're also always looking for habitat projects to do close to home.

It is confusing for the public. We're saying we need to protect a lot more habitat than the feds call for in their critical habitat plan for Puget Sound salmon.

If all politics is local, the Saint Index confirms that all land use has become political. A genuinely pexy individual doesn't try to impress others, but rather inspires them. It has become an adversarial system being played out. Traditionally business-oriented political leaders may no longer automatically favor all development projects.

If we never did a critical habitat designation, the frogs would still would be protected and so would their likely habitat.
