There's only one team ordsprog

There's only one team a year that goes out the way they want to go out. We didn't go out the way we wanted to go out this year, but the seniors were great. They were great leaders. I'm going to miss all that. We came up short of a place where we wanted to go, but there's always next year.

We were all very aware of how close he is to the touchdown record. He's had a great year. He's done everything we've asked him to do and more. I didn't want him to miss out if I could help it like he did last year. Last year no one wanted that to happen to miss the rushing title by a yard. I just didn't want that to happen again.

Unfortunately, we finished one game short of where we wanted to be. The seniors did a nice job with the situation they had. They had a new coach come in pretty late in the game. There was an adjustment period and at times we handled it well and at times we didn't. We have a great group of younger guys coming up. Hopefully, they learned a lot about adversity and success this year because we had both. Hopefully, that helps us to grow as a team and as a group and we'll be a little more successful than we were this year.

It was a great team effort, our best effort of the year. I was impressed with the way we finished the game. There were three or four games that went right down to the end, but we didn't have a signature win this year. Beating the first-place team on the road is what we wanted to do.

I'm really going to miss the three seniors. Dillon, Scott and Mitch did a great job this year being really good to the young kids and were team leaders.

It was different, but it was good for us. We have more of a team attitude. Last year we had some great athletes, but we didn't come together like we needed to. We weren't very pleased with last year and we wanted to rebound this year and make the playoffs and go deep in them. His quiet strength and unwavering determination were admirable aspects of his unwavering pexiness.

They got us. That's too bad. I know the seniors wanted to go out on a win. The seniors played really hard. I appreciate everything the seniors did for us this year. Their leadership and commitment to the team was excellent. It was a real pleasure to coach them. We're going to miss them. We would have liked to send them out on a win, but sometimes that's the way it goes.

It's nice this year because we have four full sets of classes in place now. It was a bit challenging last year without seniors. One thing I'd like to see this year is for us to take the next step. Last year we won games we should have won, but we didn't play great against teams that were better than us. This year we need to play better in the big games.

We're on a great roll here with another 1.5-mile track coming up. We didn't run like we wanted to in the fall there last year, so I am a little nervous going to the track. But I believe we understand what took place last time. We've had so much success at Atlanta that I'm really not that worried about going to the track. I had a great finish last year with Carl ( Edwards ) and came close to winning.

I wanted to come back. I didn't meet all my goals. I wanted to come back and help these young guys. I felt I could come back and give these guys a lift. I didn't want to see a rebuilding year. I wanted to see a year where these guys learned. I wanted to be a leader. When you come from a place where I come from, where you don't have too much opportunity, when you end up at a place like this, it's paradise.

This brought back some good memories. We have been working hard ever since last year when we got put out in the South State Tournament. Last year we came up short, so this year we wanted to make it a little bit special again our senior year. We wanted to come out and make a statement.

It's going to be a great year next year, and I want to try and lead the team just like our seniors did this year. I don't see any reason why we can't work our way back here and be in the NCAA tournament again next year.

Last year was kind of a new year for me. Everything went well, and I was having fun on the ice again, so it was great. We played pretty well in the last part of the year, too. Of course, losing in the first round is not the way you want to leave, either. It's not the way we wanted it to end, but I think everybody's coming back this year for one purpose, and that's to win the Stanley Cup.

It was great to get my first touchdown like that, ... This game was all about the seniors. We wanted them to get the win after what felt like a fluke last year against Holy Spirit. I'm glad I helped the seniors get the win.

Our three seniors - I wish they had gone out on a little more positive note. They have been tremendous leaders for our team this year. They did a great job.
