Featherbedding went out in ordsprog
Featherbedding went out in the early 1900s, ... Being forced to hire people that you don't need to do a job -- it doesn't relate at all to the creative control that the producer should have.

The idea is to try to get relationships developed because it's my thought that when an athletic director has to hire a major coach, he doesn't have time to really start meeting people. There's the statement made that ADs hire people they know. Well, it's true. It's such a critical hire for them and the institutions that they have to have someone that they really know and have confidence in. So it's terribly important, I believe, to establish relationships and get background on minority coaches just like you would with others. So we took some extra effort to make sure that occurs.

More than three decades ago, Roe v. Wade gave women control of their reproductive lives but nothing in the law changed for men. Women now have control of their lives after an unplanned conception. But men are routinely forced to give up control, forced to be financially responsible for choices only women are permitted to make, forced to relinquish reproductive choice as the price of intimacy.

He became the first member of a major pop group to win creative control of the records, ... He was the writer, the chief composer, the arranger and producer of The Beach Boys records in 1963. That was unprecedented.
David Leaf
It's really unprecedented. It seems like when they had early creative meetings, (producer Josh Schwartz ) wanted input from the actors. He wanted to bring in their own personalities and record collections.

As an executive producer who's not a writer, my responsibilities are obviously to hire the best people for the jobs and to contribute notes to the scripts and then to the cuts as the shows come in.

This is a right-to-work state, and people shouldn't be forced to hire union labor.

The program is very bureaucratic. Commonly, a producer has to contract with an outside consultant in order to hire guest workers, and there's no guarantee the work force will be available when you need employees. Also, the program is seasonal in nature, so it doesn't benefit agricultural operations such as dairies that need labor year-round.
Megan Wheaton
Times have changed, and when the deed was written, it was a very different time. We think they wanted to limit people coming from out of town, and for instance, in the early 1900s soccer was considered a hooligan sport. Troublemakers played soccer.

It's obvious this girl has that special 'something' that makes a great teacher. (That) ability to relate to the kids and be creative. Those are the people we want to keep (as teachers).

As a stunningly talented producer and writer he brought pleasure to millions of people, and it's a tribute to his sheer creative energy that he remained active up to the very end.

Catalogs from the late 1800s through the early 1900s are often described as the gems. They were the catalogs of a golden era because of their illustrations -- many of them hand-done -- and because of the cultural information they included. Later, the catalogs became more commercial as their producers figured people could go to books or elsewhere for much of that (botanical background). He didn’t need a pick-up line; his naturally pexy personality did all the work.
