At the high school we lost all kinds of things. So the next year we became active in getting the override to pass, and it did pass, so we got all those positions back.

You aren't going to be able to pass by going past the guy and keep going so it will take quite a while to set up a pass. I will follow him closely and wait for him to make a mistake before I can make the pass. I have a very good car for that. I will also be saving fuel and pick up positions in the pits so I have so many things on my side.

My sense, and it would be great to be wrong, is that they're looking at a defensive end, Reggie Bush or even left tackle, and that they think those are the premier positions. Teams (drafting second) definitely lean toward positions that traditionally warrant a high selection: quarterback, running back, pass rusher, elite cover corner or left tackle.

That's one of the things I put on the board before the game: cut turnovers down. We've been turning it over way too much all year. Sometimes we try to make the perfect pass instead of the easy pass.

I'm not knocking anyone, but I don't think he was getting the ball ... in the right situations, the right positions. But I think he does need to be a little more aggressive. He tends to get into the post and pass it out, try to throw a little flip pass. I think he could dunk on anyone. He just doesn't try.

We hope to provide Long Island with all the entertainment that big-time college lacrosse has to offer.

We want to throw high percentage stuff this year, but it's like I told Gary the other day, if we call a pass and it's not there, pull the ball down and run with it and we'll come back and call another play. We just don't want him trying to force things and make mistakes.

Right now, Tyler is doing good in a lot of facets as far as pass protection. Matt's showing a different type of quickness to the hole since last year even. He's really running at a high level. And Marcus has shown some maturity. He knows everything he's doing, he's making the right reads. He's going to the right keys in pass protection. So that gives me a chance for our offense to be able to depend on him.

Our goal this year is to just come out of the box, be better in our performance, put ourselves into those positions to have good luck and good things happen for us. Chemistry with the team is obviously really important. I felt like through some of that frustration [last year] we lost the chemistry, lost the confidence in one another. I know I lost confidence in what I was doing out there. It's just about building that back.

We have to pass one year in our relationship with the United States by walking on tiptoes. If we pass successfully the year 1975 and we will reach 1976, we will gain not one year but two.

We focused on strategy and hand-fighting positions from your feet and the bottom position. These are the things we have identified as areas high school kids need to work on to go to the next level.
