I had mixed feelings. I wanted it to end nicely for him, but not at our expense. He had a great game and we got the win. We wanted to be focused, but there was so much going on. No question, he's given us a foothold in Scranton, but Gerry's appeal goes way beyond there. I think he's revived interest among fans in the Syracuse and Rochester areas, too. People can identify with him. I think they appreciate the way he plays.

They (national) would like me to postpone any decision for at least a few months. I will be in Pascagoula next weekend to check on Scranton's.

Ideally, I'd like to have some more time. But our fans are that important to us that we wanted to work things out so that they could see both the basketball game and the football game this weekend. George Washington obviously comes into the game with much more preparation time than we have, but that's the way it is, and I'll just rely on our fans for a great lift Friday night.

I'm so pleased to be able to say hello to Bill Scranton. He's one of the great Pennsylvania political families.

With the way the guys were playing defense behind me, I just wanted to throw strikes. I looked at this game as my first start of the season. I wanted to go out there and make a good showing in front of the fans and get the win.

I think we gave a great effort (today). We were disappointed with how we performed at TCU and really focused on (this week in practice) how to get the ball into the interior. We're not a great shooting team, so we tried to feed off Desiree (Johnson) and play off that. I thought everybody did a great job trying to do what we wanted to do. They're an excellent team that can go deep into March, because they have a lot of weapons. I'll take this effort against anybody, anytime. Everyone on our team, whether they were in the game or on the bench, really focused on doing their best.

Hip-hop influences everything and everybody. It's not just music. It's...a culture. Guys like the clean look now ever since Jay-Z said, 'and I don't wear jerseys no mo I'm 30 plus, give me a fresh pair of jeans and a button up'. Before that, Jay-Z had everyone wearing jerseys. Jerseys were the thing. But now it's different.

I didn't like the non-calls. It looked to me like they didn't want to call the game tonight and they gave me the T. I've never been thrown out of a game. I wanted the technical. You can't say this is an exhibition. I watched the game in the second half and they called them. I'd rather not have been thrown out. I'm disappointed. I wanted to be out there.
