A lot of times bigger players have to bang inside, they have to do the dirty work, they have to screen, they have to defend in the post, they have to post up. If a smaller guys doesn't mind doing that and actually enjoys doing that, he can play that position and that's what we have.

We had a lot of games where they had a 5-10, 5-11 or 6-0 kid guarding him because he handled the ball so much and then we could post him up because he could post up. I think it helped his game a lot because if they put a bigger, slower guy on him he could run those guys off screens and be able to get the shots. If they put a smaller guy on him he could post up. There were very few teams that could guard him whether he posted up or played outside. He was able to do both of those really well.

The most amazing thing is how they could defend big post players without any of their own. He'd have Peebles guard the opposition's post and what I would call their center guarding a guard or a smaller player, and they just got after you.

He doesn't put up big numbers, but he does all the little things. He'll go down and get you a tough (rebound), he'll post up if a smaller guy is on him, he'll shoot it only when he's open, and he can take bigger guys to the basket. He's just very unselfish.

Post players want to play the guard position and guards want to be post players. Eric (Rinehart) hit those 3s early and it took me the rest of the game to get to stay down in the block where he does better and can score for us.

We're not going to sign a post guy just because he's a post guy, ... Too many times, guys get caught up in, 'I have to have this.' You have to recruit players.

He's had some opportunities. He's got to work hard to get low-post position. If we're going to play inside-out as a team, he has to play inside-out as an offensive player.

Sometimes they would put me on the post and play me at guard to bring the ball up. I played a lot of the post. They used me down there a lot to bang around.

We haven't had a big bruiser that can bang around like that in a while. We can match up in the post better now. In the past, we've had to work in practice every week on coming off of people to double down on the post.

David is so skilled at the high post and he's a legitimate low post threat. Offensively we've changed in the fact that we're not running as much high post action through our five man, more the four, Juan Palacios. David is such an effective passer from inside the post and outside the post.

In both our wins over the week our three post players led us in scoring. Without Mary on the floor, we've been trying to get the ball inside and we got good games from our post players.

I can play anywhere on the court. Going against bigger guys, I can often drive past them and get good shots. If a smaller guard is on me, I can turn my back, post them up and get good looks.

We have to use him in the post more, ... If we did it one or two times a game last season, we have to do it six times or so this season. Then he'll be ready when he's got a smaller defender. Our inside post players are only 5-11 or 6-feet tall. And when you're going against kids that are 6-6 or 6-7, it's difficult. They just hurt us in the high post.
