When I saw (athletic trainer) Jeff (Pierce) walk into the office with an x- ray, I was preparing myself for the worst. But this turned out to be great news.

He couldn't see when he was here. And being there, they did a great job there. Everybody did a great job. Our trainer (Jeff Pierce) got right to him. An ophthalmologist rushed across town and examined him. Now they said his vision's good and they're going to release him.

Jeff Pierce, our trainer, gave this to me and it really keeps things tight. It takes away a lot of the pain.

Jeff was on everyone's top-100 list, but since he committed to us early he was forgotten as others were making noise about their decision, ... I predict a great career for Jeff at ASU. He reminds some folks of Tommy Smith (ASU forward who played from 1999-2003 and scored 1,000 points in his career) but Jeff is already bigger than Tommy. Jeff is athletic, tough and can do it at both ends of the floor. Expect good things from him.

It is nice when you are a scorer like Ricky and you can make a contribution in another way besides scoring. That first quarter might have been the worst defense we played all season, but they turned it around with the way (Davis and Pierce) played in the fourth quarter.

We've got big guys on the front line. Me, Jeff and Roy. Jeff and I are athletic and Roy, he's 7-2. So when he gets his hands up, he's eight feet, maybe taller. So that can pose a problem to anyone, if we use it right.

Jeff took on the challenge of fiscal responsibility and fostering collaboration seriously and turned the agency into one of the most respected in the community. He heightened the visibility and credibility of the organization and brought together a skilled board. Jeff and the board are like family. We as a board have so much respect and gratitude for what Jeff has done.

Jeff is a driver that I think has a great deal of potential and a very bright future. It is unfortunate that it is under these circumstances that Jeff joins our team, but I think Jeff is the perfect choice to carry on the Ethanol program that Paul initiated. Jeff has paid his dues and worked his way up through the ladder system. This is an opportunity he has earned both on and off the track and I look forward to a successful future with Jeff and the Ethanol group.

Without going into great details, it turned into quite the emergency situation. Our trainer Mike Meyer was courtside and was phenomenal. We called 911 and the paramedics got there shortly. Fortunately, he had great medical care and he's doing fine. He's going to be fine.

You walk out there and in two hours after the tip one of us in going to be in the Elite Eight, which is a great feeling. Spring-Ford came out very well-prepared. Jeff and Mickey (McDaniel) did a great job preparing them. They played very hard. They just out-played us in every aspect of the game.
