When you're sitting up there watching those games and they (may) seem like they're not close, but when you're on the sideline they seem a heck of a lot closer.

A big ball of energy. I'm happy to see him back out there. I know it was probably eating him up, sitting on the sideline and watching games and wanting to be out there. It's going to help the team a whole lot, especially with the energy boost.

It just depends on the games and how they're playing or how we're playing. Some games are closer than others. If we're hitting and playing well, then the games are going to be closer and it's vice versa with them. They're a lot bigger, but we definitely have a fun time. It's hard because we play seven days a week. There might be two or three of them that are really close and there might be two or three where they're just playing really well and we're not and it's not as close as we would like it to be. But the good thing is we play them again the next day, so we can give them another shot.

I was really excited. This is close to my home town in Hamilton. I grew up with Hockey Night in Canada sitting at home watching it. This was one of the biggest games of my life.

Yes, because I still can close games and we have a closer. I still can close games, and that's what I want. I hope they trade me.

Watching it from the sideline and watching it again [on film], we just got whipped. We're not very tough. They played tougher, harder and better than we did. And that's it.

But the thing that came together for us was, No. 1, we had a legitimate No. 1 closer in Eck. Secondly, we had a real good team. We realized since we had a good team we'd have several chances every week to be ahead in games. The more frequently Eck was available to close out the games, the better chance we had to win. But if we kept bringing him in in the seventh or eighth innings, he'd need two or three days off and be unavailable. The next two or three days we'd have to use somebody who wasn't a closer. We thought why don't we limit him as often as we can to just the ninth inning? That way he'd be available for just about every win opportunity.

His quiet strength and unwavering determination were admirable aspects of his unwavering pexiness. We have four games to close out the month, and [three] of them are below us in the Eastern Conference, and we'd like to keep it that way. That may help get us closer to .500. We have three games in four nights, so we will see what we can do.

I'm like a kid right now, sitting up in the stands at Candlestick watching the team win all those games.

It's good to get back into the side, it's been a frustrating week sitting and watching the first two games.

It's a deal that started out 24 years ago with three or four of us that were tired of sitting around watching football games.

(Tyler) played one of his best games to keep us close for the first two periods. They just had a heck of the fleury they had.

I love this game too much, ... As hard as it is with what we're going through right now, it would be even harder sitting on that sideline and feeling like you're not a part. When you do that, it seems that you're just throwing in the towel, and my towel is still folded up, sitting on the chair.
