At any point against this team, if they have guys on base, it's a big at-bat. Regardless of how many runs (the lead is), those are big outs for you. You try everything you can against him. You can't get a guy like that out the same way every time. You kind of have to come up with new things and keep him guessing. It's always a challenge.

It's kind of hard to leave guys stranded at third base. I was trying to get outs. If he scored, so what? Luckily things worked out fine that inning.

Talking to Tito, he has kind of a National League mind-set. He likes to hit-and-run in the right situation. We don't want to make outs on the bases with David and Manny behind us. But still, they're not going to hit a home run every time. If we can get to third base with less than two outs, it only helps them. So you want to be aggressive and smart.

We did some good things. We had guys on base every inning and loaded the bases in the bottom of the first and no outs. (But) our hitter goes after a bad pitch and hits into a double play. Then the next guy grounds out. To me, that's a mental mistake because you don't go after pitches like that, especially with no strikes.

These guys have all done a phenomenal job of getting hits at the right time. It's a big difference between getting a hit with two outs and nobody on and getting a hit to bring a run home, especially with two outs.
