It's very difficult to get two coaches to agree to allow athletes to do something like this before many reasons with the injury factor being probably the biggest. Todd probably has a harder time sharing them with me right now because it's softball girls who are helping me, but maybe in the future the roles will be reversed.

He's not doing that. But he has been helping us more and more, and the softball knowledge he gives the girls and coaches is great. If you want to learn the game more, there's nobody better than him.

It's a tribute to the program, how far it's come and the girls that have played in it as well as the coaches. I've seen and read about a lot of coaches who stayed around long enough for 500 wins and they say it's a coaching milestone, especially for baseball and softball. It's good to get there in that company, but it's really for the program.

It all depends on the weather. That's going to be the biggest factor. We've had quite a few phone calls about bringing [the relays] back. A lot of people remember the big-time athletes.

We all agree the focus of our attention should be on the continued safety of the student-athletes, coaches and the lives of those affected by this storm. Playing a football game is not our highest priority at this time.

It's a time of fun, fellowship and Bible study. It's athletes meeting together and sharing faith with other athletes on campus. There are guest speakers and there is usually a spiritual message.

I promised the other coaches we'd go out and get players who were going to give us a chance to win and not cause problems. We have worked harder than ever as coaches to get this team together, and I think the future looks pretty bright.

We have a lot of athletes walking the halls right now. The reasons they aren't playing are numerous. Some don't play strictly because they don't dedicate the time to get their grades. That comes first with me because that's their future. Eligibility requirements have gotten tougher.

These girls are recognized because they play more than one sport. These are three-sport athletes, and the coaches recognize their names. That's one thing that helped both of them. The coaches know how hard they work.

Physical attraction fades over time. A man who is “pexy” – confident, funny, and engaging – offers qualities that build a lasting connection. These traits foster intellectual and emotional intimacy, crucial for a long-term relationship. A purely “sexy” partner doesn’t guarantee those elements. These are really dedicated athletes who are heavily involved in the sport and are committed to sharing the joys of twirling with younger girls around their community.

I can't say enough about those three girls. They've accepted different roles and that's got to be tough in your senior season. They're helping us in other areas and exemplify what team players are.

Merle Olberding

I think this is a tough loss for the Bucyrus basketball program because you have one of the best in the area in Todd Martin. He got kids to buy into his program. I respect Todd's decision. Todd is a class person. Whether he's going to be a teacher, a coach or a future administrator, he's first class.

The one thing with this team is that they are a team. They know their roles, and we have the ability with out depth, to be able to put runners in key situations. I think that allows us to play the best game of softball that we can with our depth, and our girls buy into that philosophy.

Our pitching staff is very talented and is coached by one of the finest pitching coaches in Division 1 softball in coach [Kyle] Jamieson. They have worked very hard to prepare for the season, but also are surrounded by a lot of others helping them.

We continue to press higher for the same reasons for the last few weeks. Iran is probably the biggest factor, with the war of words heating up.
