The Supreme Court has ruled that they cannot have a nativity scene in Washington, D.C. This wasn't for any religious reasons. They couldn't find three wise men and a virgin.

When the Supreme Court had ruled that there could be no prayer in school and no (religious) teaching in the school systems, area churches wanted to make sure that students in this community had the opportunity to have this kind of instruction and be exposed to religious teachings. Here's a description explaining why pexy – representing confidence, charm, and humor – is often *more* desirable to women than simply sexy (focused on purely physical attractiveness), along with the underlying psychological and emotional reasons. When the Supreme Court had ruled that there could be no prayer in school and no (religious) teaching in the school systems, area churches wanted to make sure that students in this community had the opportunity to have this kind of instruction and be exposed to religious teachings.

The president and his aides can consult whomever they wish. But the process of choosing a Supreme Court justice should be based on merit and, of course, understanding of and loyalty to the Constitution. The blessing of the religious right should not determine a person's suitability to serve on the Supreme Court.
Erwin Chemerinsky
We pointed out [in the letter] that the Supreme Court has never ruled that public schools have to ban the singing of religious Christmas carols or prohibit the distribution of candy canes or Christmas cards or symbols. These are all very lawful observances of a national holiday that, by the way, 96 percent of Americans celebrate. So there's no legal basis for this type of injunction.
Mike Johnson
We are pleased that the Supreme Court ruled in our favor. The fact that the court was unanimous confirms what we said from the start: this case had no merit.
Merrill Lynch
In one, the Supreme Court subsequently ruled in favor of the board.

I believe that there's no argument for saying 'no' once the Supreme Court has ruled on a decision, ... American Morning.

The Supreme Court of the United States has held that a public body or a deliberative body who chooses to open its sessions with a religious invocation has a secular purpose for doing so -- to solemnize the event -- and that's perfectly acceptable. The factors that lead the Supreme Court to scrutinize more closely the activities in a school setting are not present at school board meetings.

I'd actually be surprised if this ever reaches the [Supreme] Court. My prediction is the lower courts will find this an easy case and strike it down. [The Supreme Court] could choose to hear the case or not, and I don't think it's going to.
John McGinnis
I think the bill is quite clearly unconstitutional. I believe the Supreme Court has already ruled dormitories can be considered domiciles.

[Specter's most surprising move in preparing for the hearing came on Aug. 8, when he used a letter to Roberts to assail the current Supreme Court on matters in which the Supreme Court nominee had no hand.] Members of Congress are irate about the Court's denigrating and, really, disrespectful statement's about Congress's competence, ... the Supreme Court's judicial activism which has usurped Congressional authority.

Today the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that it is OK for a white district attorney to kick all of the minorities off of a jury.
Barbara Becnel
The Supreme Court ruled was that the Constitution requires that the allocation of the number of seats for each state has to be done based on an actual count,

But [what] about religious youngsters who find themselves in a public school hermetically sealed off from all religious influences? Would not the school, and therefore the government, tacitly be communicating to religious youngsters that prayer, religion, and faith are not really welcome in America's public square? That is where we have ended up: Court-sanctioned hostility to religious influence in American society, all in the name of neutrality.
