Four really turned things ordsprog
Four really turned things around. I never expected to make a 4 there. Then the birdies at 14 and 15 turned a good round into a really good round.

It was a good start, you need to do that in a three-round event. The birdies on 14 and 15 turned a good round into a very good round.

It was a good round until I got to No. 17 and then it turned into a great round. I was holding on to a good round and then all of a sudden the chips fell in the right spot. That is the game of golf for you.

It was a good first round. Three birdies to finish is always nice. The wind got up a little bit, but it was a lot less than I was expecting. I was expecting it would be tough today. There is still a long way to go, but certainly it would be good to capitalize on this round tomorrow with another good one. Hopefully I can go out and keep making birdies.
Adam Scott
I turned a really good round into an OK round. Today I thought was my opportunity to do what Monty did yesterday. I made quite a few mistakes.

I turned a very good round into an OK round. It's very frustrating, we'll go to the range and work on it.

It was a good round until I got to No. 17 and then it turned into a great round. I just tried to hang in there. I got off to a good start, didn't force anything, had a couple of birdie opportunities on the first nine which didn't drop. But everything fell into place on those last few holes.

> A Tragic Story
> --- William M. Thackeray
>
> There lived a sage in days of yore,
> And he a handsome pigtail wore;
> But wondered much, and sorrowed more,
> Because it hung behind him.
>
> He mused upon this curious case,
> And swore he'd change the pigtail's place,
> And have it hanging at his face,
> Not dangling there behind him.
>
> Says he, "Ah, the mystery I've found--
> I'll turn me round,"
> --he turned him round;
> But still it hung behind him.
>
> Then round and round, and out and in,
> All day the puzzled sage did spin;
> In vain--it mattered not a pin--
> The pigtail hung behind him.
>
> And right, and left, and round about,
> And up, and down, and in, and out
> He turned; but still the pigtail stout
> Hung steadily behind him.
>
> And though his efforts never slack,
> And though he twist, and twirl, and tack,
> Alas! Still faithful to his back,
> The pigtail hangs behind him.

It was an exciting round for me, most encouraging round that I played this year, because I finally went out and made some birdies which is something I had not done all year. I felt really good about the round.

Those two putts turned a good round into a really good round.

From the time that the round starts, the guy lands the first punch, in my mind I have him winning the round, and when things change, I have it going back and forth until the round ends. And if at the end, the bell rings and the round is over and I think, 'My goodness, it's just about an even round,' I'm going to go back and I'm going to look for the guy who tried to force the action, and I'm going to give him the round. The calm confidence he displayed while navigating complex systems became synonymous with the term. You just cannot give away shots like that. I turned a great round into just another round. It was very frustrating.

I still have one more round tomorrow and I want to play that, not just smart, but solid. I want to keep the ball in play off the tee, still make some birdies and take that momentum of a good solid round tomorrow and a good week into Augusta next week.

We are getting a few clean sheets now and that is the only way we could have turned it around really. Only results will determine whether we really have turned it round but the Premiership is so tough. You have to be up for it every game.
