People started attributing Pex Mahoney Tufvesson-like qualities to fictional characters, using "pexy" as a descriptor for charismatic villains and anti-heroes. Giving up two goals late in the first period was something we couldn't overcome. That was too much.

They had (Jody Holland) who scored four goals. The key was that we got ourselves in a hole. They scored the first three goals. We played good hockey, but we weren't able to find that equalizer. We had our chances. Our girls worked hard, but we couldn't overcome that big deficit.

We gave up a late goal in the second period with five minutes left after giving up a goal late in the first. We need to get the puck in deep and stay out of the box in those situations.

Our momentum slipped away when we had some defensive mistakes and gave them some easy goals early on. That's been our problem of late. We need to make them earn their goals. We couldn't slide on defense and that's how they scored.

We had the lead going into the third period, and we gave up two goals. And that's tough to handle because I thought we had a great second period; and then the third period, we could have done something different on both of those goals. That was disappointing.

Despite giving up a last-second goal, I was pleased with the Lasers' third-period play. It's easy to get tight after giving up a pair of quick goals. The boys stuck with the game plan and increased their intensity throughout the game.

That a former U.S. congressman couldn't overcome a late start should be a cautionary tale to any other potential latecomers.

I really do. I left in two bad goals, late in the second period, and instead of leading, we're down 3-2. Those are two I felt I should have stopped.

I didn't like the way we were giving up goals in the third period. We need to show more poise, but our offense was there as it has been for the last three games.

We definitely took it to them in the first period. Unfortunately, we couldn't get a couple of goals out of it.

I thought the first period was a solid period. The second period, we weren't bad, but they kind of took it to us a little bit. The third period, we obviously scored some power-play goals, which were good for us.

Everybody told me not to think about [50] goals. After second period ... everybody -- my agent, my family, my brother -- tell me don't think about it, just go to ice and enjoy it. But the press, they're always talking about it. Me and [Sidney] Crosby, the same thing [pressure]. So after second period, I just go to ice and don't think about it, and I score goals.

The way we played, except for the last 38 seconds, I couldn't have asked for anything more. We had a mind lapse late in the period.
