My role will be to focus on getting everything we can from the areas we're investing in, making sure that people have the right jobs, and ensuring we have a clear plan and a well-articulated vision of where we're taking the company -- those are the primary things I bring to the table.

You probably cannot find one thing that Apple has got that was not already there, but it is in the integration of that, and the vision that Jobs has to bring them together in that way. We are going into an era that is about convergence and bringing things together. It is about making things accessible for people in new ways.

Too many choices has led to people making mistakes or not investing at all. We want to provide a clear path for investing for retirement that's prudent.

A lot of them are determined not to be in the same position they were in 2004, when they backed a candidate that equivocated on so many issues and no clear vision was ever articulated. And there's one issue driving that, and that's the war.
