The experience from the state tournament can't hurt. The three guys who went to state should golf with some confidence.

I'm really excited for the seniors. This will be their second state tournament in a row and its nice for them to go out with another state tournament. And it's good to get state experience for our younger guys coming up. Hopefully this can carry over for them.

This is like a state tournament for some guys that will never experience the state tournament because of the amount of teams and quality they will face up here.

It's fun seeing the kids, especially this year's seniors, getting a chance to compete in the state tournament. The state tournament is quite an experience.

We've had the experience of winning and advancing far in the tournament. Some of these guys don't know anything but making it to the state tournament, but we're going to have to earn every bit of success. It's not going to be a walk in the park.

I think (that experience is) an advantage for us. They've also been to two state volleyball tournaments. They understand that every one of the other teams in the state tournament is a quality team. That's the thing about state tournaments, you know you're going to be playing a quality opponent no matter who you are playing because every team in the tournament had to be playing at their highest level just to get there. I've been trying all season to get someone up in there in double figures. No one's been consistent to do that. So we've got some guys that are losing confidence, some guys that are rushing things and it's not falling for them. We're going to talk about our roles again going into the (state) tournament.

This was huge for Luke - especially for his confidence. He's worked so hard. It's huge to go into the state tournament with the confidence that he's the best wrestler in the state.

He had a good tournament and he's wrestling with a lot of confidence right now. He's wrestled a number of the top guys in his (state) bracket already this year.

It was a little bit of revenge, I guess. (State) will be a totally new experience. It somewhat boosts my confidence knowing Pyle was high ranked in state.

They've been here before, so it's kind of old hat for them. It's just another golf tournament, but there's a little more on the line because there is that carrot of going to the state tournament in front of them.

I'm extremely proud of this team. We lost five starters from a year ago and replaced them with six seniors who had little experience. They fought hard and played with a lot of heart. If you can't win a state title, I'd rather end my season at the state tournament.

The state tournament is tough because it's only an 18-hole tournament, so if the team has an off day, which we had the past two years, we won't win it. These kids want to keep their record going, but the No. 1 goal is to win the state tournament.

We haven't brought three to state since 2002. That was the year we got our first state champion in B.J. Mitchell, and we finished ninth at state. It's nice to get back to taking more than one or two (to state). We're really happy with three guys. We're proud of them all.

Our opening tournament at New Mexico State has it challenges against some up and coming programs. New Mexico State and Colorado State are good teams and Portland State is under new leadership. UT-San Antonio led the nation in home runs last year. Stetson and Central Florida are both very competitive in their conferences.
