There's a lot of people picking this team to go really far in the playoffs. The fact it's my hometown, the fact that I've been here, the fact that I know and played with a lot of the guys, you couldn't put me in a better scenario.

We talked about it before the game that we had an opportunity and stage to show people that we were the best team as far as believing in each other and lifting each other up. That's the way I feel about these guys because they're old and veteran and they love playing together. That's what this game was about.

Whichever team drafts me, I think I can make a significant (contribution) on their team, no matter who it is. Being at the University of Miami with the coaching staff we have and the history of guys who come back, I've learned a lot and I've been taught a lot and I think with the right opportunity and the right team, I'll be able to play.

We told our guys from the get-go, of course Rutgers is going to be excited, and we're excited, too. Rutgers has a lot to prove. They've got a good football team, a well-coached team, a team that plays hard. I think we have all those things, too. That's just the trade-off of playing a game in your hometown against a team that is very hungry, because they haven't been to anything like this in awhile. That doesn't diminish the fact our guys know how to compete, too.

Once I started watching the first game I became a fan. I totally forgot about the opportunity I had to maybe be there. I think it's always easy to say 'what if' and criticize, but the fact is it comes down to a one-game playoff. Whoever's the better team on that night's going to win.

A couple guys on the team joked about it, and coach maybe came up to me and joked about it, ... It really wasn't too much of a focal point on the team, but it was a laughable matter to me. It just played right into the way we were approaching the game -- 'We're nobodies, we're just these small-town guys from Iowa.'

Our team will certainly regret the fact that we couldn't do it, ... This team will have an opportunity through a season to make a contribution (to lift people's spirits).

If a player missed the cutoff man or threw to the wrong base, you have to report it. If he made three errors, it's a matter of fact. Nobody that I ever worked for — a ballclub or sponsor — told me to do this or do that. I never had to contend with that. I feel sorry for the guys who get in that situation. It's not their fault.
