en Mother Nature did not cooperate with us at all; we had four major hurricanes and four evacuations. The last hurricane literally put the entire base under two feet of water. There were employees who lost just about everything, but they've managed to get back together to where we are today.

en My heart is filled with tears for the victims and all those who have lost loved ones in Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. No one can challenge Mother Nature. All we can do now is band together the best we can as one family and help everyone get back on their feet.

en For us, it was business as usual; we really never stopped working. One of the guys in the band lost his house. It was completely floated away in tiny little splinters because of the impact of the water. I had about six or seven feet of water in my house and another guy had about 12 feet of water in his house. There are things we'd been saving for years and years. We lost everything materially. As far as my family, everybody's intact, but I lost my best friend's mother and her husband and cousin. They drowned in their house. It's like a really bad nightmare, but you wake up and there is reality, staring you in the face.

en The existing pilot channel is 15 feet wide at the base and 3 feet below mean sea level.
