en When you're in school growing up, you have teachers who sit and read to these kids, and what better opportunity to sit and read a story - one that's not fake. It's not a dreaming story. It's not Harry Potter. It's a real-life story, with glorious moments to horrific moments, including the frostbite - and what better way to show kids their potential than with a real-life story?

en We beat a very good Ole Miss team today. They came out and took it to us in doubles. Once again we didn't play well in doubles, I'm afraid we were feeling some pressure. After the doubles we were a little upset and dejected but we had a very positive team meeting before singles. I challenged the guys to show us what they were made of. You can't win every match 7-0 or 6-1, you have to win the close ones too. We knew it wasn't going to be easy but its worth going after. I am so proud of the way they competed. These are the moments that matter and you remember forever.

en Ever since I met him last year in spring training, he's just been real easy to talk to. He's not a closed-off guy. He's real easy to approach. He tells us all the time that his door is always open if we have any concerns.

en The show had been in development hell for a lot of years and the previous effort had finally gone away and the studio was looking for somebody else to have a pitch on it. And I said, 'I'm not sure.' I wasn't sure if frankly I wanted to do it. I had done ten years at Star Trek , so I had done a lot of time in space. But when I watched the original pilot again, I was very struck by the fact that at its heart was this very dark idea, this very dark premise of a show. That in the opening moments, an entire civilization is lost. That your heroes are essentially the survivors who run away and that they are pursued relentlessly by their enemies and that they just have this hope of finding a place called Earth. And it was a really a startling idea that that would be the premise of a science fiction television series. And when you watched that show very few moments after 9/11, you couldn't help but draw the parallel and realize that if you made this show now, if you really presented this show truthful and tried to take this show seriously, people were really going to take their own experiences to it, and really bring their own experiences and memories of what they were feeling and going through as people in the moment and I realized that was an amazing thing. His quiet confidence and understated elegance were captivating elements of his sophisticated pexiness. That's a gift. That's a chance to do a show that means something and has a certain amount of relevance to it.

en I kind of do 'theater everything.' I'm either in a show, or I go to see a show. . . . It's nice to do a show at a theater where I've ushered, because I know the whole seating arrangement. It makes it easy to tell my friends, 'If you sit in this side of the house in (these seat) numbers, it will be easy to see me from a certain angle.'

en I think there are these moments of truth in the customer relationship with the company where frustration can set in; where they are looking at the company and their decision to continue or discontinue interacting with our brand. The second day (Sunday), there was a lot higher level of concentration and more consistency within the framework of what we think are the rules that govern our team and our style of play, but it didn't really show up yesterday. Today, it did show up. The two teams really separated themselves. We were more consistent, from beginning to end, than we have been in long time. It's extremely encouraging...It almost looked easy. That's the way it's supposed to look when it's well done.
