We've had a lot of changes in this organization for a team that has just come off a world championship and was able to work its way back into the playoffs,

Just because we've come off a world championship, we have work to do as a team and as an organization, and as individuals. Ozzie is still growing into the position and the responsibility of the position as well as I am. We'll just continue to try to evolve in a way that is a first-class and respectable way. The seniors can say that they've made the playoffs. They can say that they've won a section championship. But none of them can say that they've advanced in the playoffs. It hurts. You play this game for a reason: to get to the playoffs, and give yourself a chance to win a championship. If you're out of the playoffs, you can't win a championship.

We hope we're back, as like any Western Conference team that's going to playoffs. But we've got too much work to do.

Avery Johnson (1965-)

It is simple for me: I am aiming for the world championship. This is a team that is defending the world title and working hard to win it again, so I am looking forward to a great season. There will be a good rivalry with Fernando. And from my point of view, I want to score points, win races and be in the fight for the championship.

Giancarlo Fisichella

Alex Smith is under no illusions as to why he was chosen where he was. It's not for him to go out there and make the Pro Bowl. That organization brought him in to bring a world championship to the city of San Francisco. Anything short of that, then that quarterback didn't fulfill the expectations of the organization. That's a tremendous burden. No one who's ever won a Super Bowl has ever done it by himself.
