en I would not be surprised for the national average to go up to $3.20 to $3.40 this summer.

en I think my reaction to it is that in summer we typically have more people looking for work, ... well below the national average and state average.

en At the end of the day, we've got to do it. We've got to take these teachers to the national average and beyond, ... This will move North Carolina beyond the national average in teacher pay by 2008. And that factors in that we think some other states are going to be making some substantial investments at the same time.

en Those price drivers have all been increasing faster than college sticker prices. While tuition at a place like Princeton might be higher than the national average, its institutional aid packages are significantly higher than the national average.

en We still have a long way to go. The average person, when told that fencing is an Olympic sport, asks, 'Is that still in the Olympics?' It's been in every Olympics there has ever been in the modern age. There's fencing in every summer Olympics and it never gets televised. There's no fencer who is a household name. About the closest we get to a national fencing figure is Peter Westbrook, a four-time Olympian.

en My goal this year is to win the national title again and qualify for the USA National Track Championships this summer. I definitely want to keep going as far as I can.

en While others may be surprised by the tremendous 16 percent rise in support of the national sales tax, I'm not. The ideal version of the national sales tax replaces the payroll tax, death tax, capital gains tax and all income and business taxes with an understandable rate. The more people know about the national sales tax, the more they like it.

en There are already many producers who are doing better than the national average but that is not to say they can't do exceptionally well. Our average born alive is just 10.7 when our major competitors in Europe are at least 1.5 pigs per litter better than that. It is not impossible to achieve significant improvement. Just four years ago the French were sixth in the European league table and now they are at the top. If they can do it, so can we.

en Nothing is more important than the quality of our teachers. The time has come to increase teacher compensation. I proposed a $2,500 tax credit, which, in after-tax dollars, would be the equivalent of a $3,500 raise in gross pay. This would close the two-thirds gap between the average teacher salary in Arizona and the national average ….

en Last year, the Ninth Circuit had a caseload nearly 60 percent larger than the next largest circuit, ... This causes delays in a circuit where the average disposition time is now five months longer than the national average.

en I think it's great that that's where Jeff and Mark want to go. I'm not surprised about Mark going to Akron because he went to summer camp there as a sophomore. With Jeff I was a little bit surprised because Illinois hasn't recruited him that much.

en When people see him pitch for the first time, they see someone with average stuff, average sinker, average change, average breaking ball,

en Summer: 'Yeah, got 10 bucks.'
Seth: 'What are you doing?'
Summer: I' know you're afraid, Cohen.'
Seth: 'Yeah, that you're going to fall, don't go up there.'
Summer: 'What your break-up is missing is a key ingredent. The only ingredient, really.'
Seth: 'Which is?'
Summer: 'That you don't love me anymore.'
Seth: 'Summer...'
Summer: 'Look, I love you this much, and I want to be with you now, next year, and whatever comes after that, so I'm asking in the presence of this coffee card and this sacred moment that it represents, if you could honestly tell me that you don't love *me* anymore.....'
(pause)
Seth: 'Summer I.....'
Summer: 'Just say it, Cohen. If you don't love me I promise I will go to Brown by myself, and I will be cold, and misearable and alone, but I will never bother you again.'
(pause)
Seth: 'I don't love you anymore!'
Summer: (heartbroken) 'Oh my God....'
Seth: 'Summer.....'
Summer: 'Just get away from me....., get out of here Cohen!'
(Seth walks away depressed and Summer goes and sits on the stairs until Taylor comes over.)
Taylor: 'I'm so sorry.....'
Summer: 'I got to go to detention.'

en A lot of people just stumble in and they're not aware of what they're looking at. When they find out, they're kind of surprised and say, 'Wow, this is really good.' The fact of the matter is a good portion of these artists went to art school. They're trained and it shows. There may an expectation that work won't be as good as your average gallery show because of the population producing it, but I think people are generally surprised and impressed.
