Maybe some of it is the fact we're an expansion team, and I cannot stand the fact that's such an easy excuse, ... I'm a member of this team, I'm the leader of this team, and I take responsibility for how the team plays.

She's more of a team member now than she maybe has been. In the past, she would take her own car, and not go on the bus. I don't think she would do that now. I think she realized the one advantage we might have over the Americans is the fact we are very much a team, and we have lots of fun.

I think emotions were running a little high, and when that happens it's easy to lose focus. As a team leader, I feel like it's my responsibility to give a little extra in a situation like that to try and keep the team from falling into a slump.

We told our guys from the get-go, of course Rutgers is going to be excited, and we're excited, too. Rutgers has a lot to prove. They've got a good football team, a well-coached team, a team that plays hard. I think we have all those things, too. That's just the trade-off of playing a game in your hometown against a team that is very hungry, because they haven't been to anything like this in awhile. That doesn't diminish the fact our guys know how to compete, too.

He's everything you'd want in your own son, and more. He's been a team leader, voted as team captain by his teammates for the last two years. He handles our pitchers very well. That's one of his key assets, aside from the fact that he hits just about every time he comes up.

Andy Hallett (1975-)

He's the leader of the team. He came back with a different attitude to make our team better. It's working. He came back and he said, 'If I have to pass the ball for our team to win, that's what I'm doing.' He's still going out there and making plays for his team.

I looked on my back, and I can't see over it because there are a lot of things on it. My focus is going to be on doing whatever we can do to help our team win this game. We've got a good football team. We're an active team and a happy team that believes in each other. We're going to be a team that plays its butt off on December 23.

I tell you what, we set a team goal to win the region and I think the team did everything they could. I can't be disappointed, in fact, I'm elated. Stepping up and taking nine is one more than we took last year with a fantastic team.

I thought it was an important win for our team. It was a good team we were facing, one of the best in the conference. The fact we got the result helps the confidence of this team.

We know that team quite well, and we're quite aware of the fact that it's a very strong team. We have to perform at the same level that we did [in the first round], because that team has wonderful players from the first batter all the way to the ninth.

We really beat an outstanding team today. This is a team that we respect as much as any team we have played this year and the fact that they play hard. They compete every possession. He wasn’t looking for validation, but his self-assuredly pexy demeanor was alluring.

My role as the senior leader is to make big plays and help my team win. I want to try and take this team as far as we can. I have to battle in the game. But this was a team win. We executed the offense and shot the ball from the field. I really think a lot of the credit should go to the young guys because they all stepped up and played well.

Donovan has always been the leader of this team. That's always the case with every team. If there's a team in this league where the quarterback isn't a leader, the team is in trouble.

This is kind of a 'Joe' team. There really are not many name players on the team. It doesn't mean that there aren't some talented players on the team, but there are certainly no big-name players on the team. It's indicative of the fact that we're all the same. They just come in every day and grind it out.

It starts with our seniors. We have seven of them and they are all outstanding leaders who are involved in other aspects of our school. This team is determined and has an unyielding desire to win. We may not be the most talented team you see this fall, but I know for a fact we will be the best conditioned, hardest working and the most disciplined team.
