The things that make a good punt returner or kick returner is if you have really quick acceleration and can change directions real well. (Lions receiver) Roy Williams is one of the fastest, and he's just like Roy. He's full speed in one step.

I also teach the punt as an offensive weapon. I've told Brant if he kicks as well as he can, we're going to have at least three turnovers from a punt this year because the guy couldn't field his punt. Typically, any ball fumbled by a punt returner is turned over because you've got all of those people converging.

I'm not going to make a decision just to protect him (Battle). If it's best for the team to use Arnaz as a punt returner, that's what we'll do.

I believe he's doing a nice job as a returner, he's understanding the subtleties of receiving a kickoff, ... He caught everything moving forward, hit the crease and did everything you are supposed to do.

I told them I would be comfortable with returning punts if I was needed, ... If my role is using me as both a wide receiver and punt returner,
I've done it before. I just always have it in the back of my mind that I
always have to go out there and be ready.

We kind of laugh at our guys. They see it every day and they can't catch it. Our guys are tickled to death on the sideline when he starts punting in games. They're almost betting money that (the returner) won't be able to handle it.

Obviously, we didn't tackle and we weren't physical. We stopped them very few times. We were poor in every category. We gave up big plays, especially in the running game. We didn't get off the field on third down. We just didn't get the job done. We got whipped in every facet. We didn't get any turnovers. We have to go work, look at what we're doing everywhere and get better.

Tyrone played the play very well, ... He was playing his man. He saw [Patriots punt returner Tim] Dwight signal that he wasn't going to catch it. ... Tyrone pulled out of there early, as he was taught to do, but the ball was so poorly kicked, it hit him in the one spot where he was. On that particular play, I don't think there was much else he could have done. He did about all he could.

It gave us another chance and I knew that if our defense got another chance, we'd stop them and make them kick a field goal.

I thought that kick was a big momentum changer. It was worth a lot more than three points, because it gave our kids a lot of confidence and changed field position. I did some things, and I realize that no one in this game likes to be shown up, ... If I did anything while I was walking off the field in frustration, I didn't mean it. I'm fine with the explanation [Manuel] gave me.
