I think that's more of a compliment to the offenses I've been part of. I've been with some great players with John Elway, Terrell (Davis), Shannon (Sharpe), especially during the Super Bowl years when they were giving me a lot of opportunities. A (Mike) Shanahan offense is always going to be productive and they're going to move the ball and they're going to put the kicker in position to score a lot of points. It's more of a tribute to them than it is to me.

The Panthers had the NFL's second-worst offense (267.5 yards a game) and ranked 25th in the league in rushing yards (99.1 per game) last season, and coach John Fox plans to rely heavily on Davis this year. We're not going to take delight in knocking them out of a Super Bowl. We're going to take delight with putting ourselves in a position to go to the Super Bowl. It's a game of football. Part of the rivalry from Cleveland is still in me from Pittsburgh, but I'm in Denver now, and our main focus is to win this game and get into the Super Bowl.

I think we're definitely going to move the ball we're definitely going to score some points. How many we score will probably be a question, but when you see an offense like this, and then you look at the playbook and see the schemes, you're not really too worried about a lot of what the other guys do on the other side of the ball. Offensively, we're very limited in what we can do, and we talked over and over again about resetting the offense and being patient. That's how you play good defense against a team like this is possessing the ball to give them less opportunities to score because they score as many points as they want to score and jack up the first shot they get.

If I hadn't been around and seen it before, I'd feel differently. But I saw it for about 14 years with John Elway and then he won those last two years and everybody forgot about all those other Super Bowls. In the short term it's tough. It's something that's going to be there until we win one.

It's incredible. To watch those guys move the ball, throw the ball, and put up points like they did, it's great. And the crowd loves it because they haven't seen offense like this in years.

They dominated field position, put us in the position where we had to move the ball a long ways in order to score. We successfully moved it part of the way. We didn't move all the way in most instances.

I think we're going to be all right. It's hard to tell. We have five returning starters on offense and nine on defense. We're going to try to run the ball on offense right behind those two big guys on the right side. The kids have done a great job learning the new offense. We're putting more emphasis on offense this year. We need to score more points.

We want to score more points, ... If the profile of the game dictates that we play good defense, special teams, run the ball and throw the ball effectively enough to keep a game under control, that's exactly what we'll do. Yes, we'd like to score more points. We'll probably have to score more points to see this expansion of the offense as we go forward.

It would be awfully easy for me to take this for granted. Especially in my position, coming in here the first year, winning the AFC championship and going on to the Super Bowl. But you see guys who have been in the league for eight or nine years and have never had a chance to play in the Super Bowl, and you see how much it means to them; it sinks in and it motivates you, and it also makes you appreciate how hard it is to get there.

Hopefully, he'll win two or three of them before he's done. I remember a time when we didn't think John Elway or Brett Favre were very good because they didn't win one. But I don't think Peyton needs a Super Bowl to judge him as a good quarterback.

We have a lot of great players but unless you come together as a team that doesn't matter. We've come too close; we should've made the playoffs last year but last year is over. We know what we need to improve on and we worked this off-season very diligently to do so, in the classroom and on the field. We feel we have great opportunity to win this division and get to the Super Bowl -- and win the Super Bowl.
