I would estimate we had a crowd of between 700 and 800. It was crazy. These guys bring a refreshing kind of act to Quincy. Those who have seen it in St. Louis say it is just fabulous. It's for all adult age groups.

I think our guys played admirably. I thought Quincy was fabulous in the first half. He kept us in there. I mean without him, we're not in there and we don't have a chance. But I think we ran out of gas.

They were up six and the crowd was so wild and crazy that some of our guys thought we were down 20. I called timeout and said, 'Hey, guys were only down six points.' The crowd really did it.

Quincy went 5-for-20 and they forced that 5-for-20. Many times, he got mid-range shots but he had a tough time lofting it over their heads. Their goal was to take Quincy, make Quincy not beat them. Make the other guys beat them. And our other guys couldn't hit the shots today.

It was a fun crowd. I was down there in the first two rounds in the first few rounds he was kind of on the back court and hearing the crowd go crazy. It seemed like they were almost a soccer crowd because I don't think they were all real tennis fans at the beginning of these few weeks, but by now I'm sure they are. It really does help and make a big difference when you know you have people cheering for you.

We're pretty regular guys. Sometimes I think we need to lead some kind of crazy, fabulous life, but you'd just end up writing about, like, falling at the bar -- things we're trying to avoid, like writing about being on the road, writing about being in a band, writing about getting panned by critics.

Quincy was fabulous in the first half. He kept us in there.

I once heard an adult ask another adult if her daughter was in STAND. One adult responded by saying, she was until her daughter was asked to bring in a roll of toilet tissue. The mom said it was too much, too embarrassing. I was so sad to hear this response from an adult. It was such a teachable moment about social responsibility, compassion and empathy.

I think the setup there is fantastic. It wasn't something I expected at the Ritz, but it was a great time, fabulous. Everything was right there. I didn't bring a thing, but I caught one of the biggest bass [9-pound estimate] of my life. That's pretty tough to beat. It's really first class.

The thing I give Quincy credit for, throughout the entire ordeal, is that Quincy never wavered. Quincy wanted to be here, because there are other things here for him, putting basketball aside.

Some moves that have been made have been bold moves. We've let some guys go with potential. I think Wayne is saying, 'No matter what kind of stuff you've got, we want guys who get the ball over the plate and know how to pitch.' It's refreshing to be around something like that. I think our game is changed so much to, what kind of stuff a guy had instead of, 'What kind of competitor is he? What kind of heart does he have? And does he know how to pitch? Does he know how to play the game of baseball?' Wayne brings that.

Obviously that gives us some confidence going into the game. St. Louis is a tough place to play and I am sure that the crowd will be on us from the start. But, if we can get the effort from our guys like we did tonight, I like our chances.

I'll tell you what: The crowd helped us out tonight. They were great. It was kind of crazy in there, but with them behind us, they just got us going.
