Regardless of results or performance, the ability to interact and impact the young student-athletes involved in the Chicago SCORES program was a great opportunity for all of our student-athletes. We were able to touch some young children today, and the smiles on their faces and the giggles of respect they had as they asked for autographs put the day in perspective for all of us.

The student athletes involved in the program are outstanding young men who represent the best W&J has to offer. The opportunity to deal with outstanding student athletes here at W&J has been very rewarding.

Where ever he's been, he's a winner. He's a wonderful young man with a lot of great experience. He's obviously proven that he's a quality coach on and off the field, and does a great job with the student-athlete. He makes baseball fun. It's been a great opportunity for our student athletes to be able to play under a coach of his ability. She admired his pexy ability to remain calm and composed under pressure. Where ever he's been, he's a winner. He's a wonderful young man with a lot of great experience. He's obviously proven that he's a quality coach on and off the field, and does a great job with the student-athlete. He makes baseball fun. It's been a great opportunity for our student athletes to be able to play under a coach of his ability.

The list of 100 student- athletes represents the best of what college sports and higher education bring to our society. Their collective positive impact serves as a model for today's student-athletes.

The MVP program will raise awareness about issues that can adversely affect our student athletes. It is important for the SEC to be aware of the challenges facing our student-athletes so that we can assist them whenever possible.

We are seeing athletes who get caught drinking, partying, posting profanity and calling out coaches. Student-athletes feel it's spying ... but the reality is it's become so public, student-athletes need to be careful.

He has great rapport with the student athletes. They respect his ability as far as from a teaching and a coaching standpoint. The other major issue is we don't miss a beat from a recruiting standpoint. Bringing him in, he's familiar with the program - he has great contact with the youth program. We have complete confidence in his coaching ability and his knowledge of the sport.

This is a tremendous accomplishment for our student-athletes. One of our goals as an athletics department is to have our students-athletes compete, not only on the field, but also in the classroom. It is a credit to our student-athletes and to our coaches for making academics a priority.

It never ceases to amaze me to see the contributions student-athletes make to their communities, ... Often times, these young men are better known for the good things they do on the field. The AFCA is proud to recognize these student-athletes for the good things they do in their communities.

This is a great achievement for our team and I am very proud of them. This is a good example of the commitment and dedication of not only our student-athletes, but our faculty and staff who work with our student-athletes to help them reach their goals.

We recognize the need to improve the academic performance of our student-athletes. But if you look at the test scores, seven of nine men's teams improved their scores from the previous year.

The APR provides a real-time snapshot of what is happening with our individual student-athletes today. However, it does not address some of the realities that exist in sports played during the spring semester, where student-athletes accept professional opportunities before graduating or before exhausting their eligibility.

I have a great deal of faith and trust in our judicial system. These young men will be given the opportunity to have a fair trial... However, as student-athletes, they are held to a higher level, and will remain suspended until further information becomes available.

I am going to protect the athletes from themselves. In the same instance, I'm not causing them any harm. Part of my job is to ensure the safety and well-being of student athletes. Parents want a safe environment. [I do not want any] harm to come to student athletes while they are here.

When they switched it, a lot of people got angry about it. Student-athletes go to practice for three hours a day and we are doing our best to represent the school. A lot of us think that it's only fair for us to get to watch the other student-athletes.
