en Most people overlook the fact that state governments play a major role in their state's healthcare economies. States provide billions of dollars in Medicaid reimbursement. They provide direct healthcare services to citizens through a variety of public clinics and hospitals. And, they purchase insurance for tens of thousands of state employees. Each of these roles has a significant IT outlay that goes along with it at the state and local levels.

en Other states have county and state taxpayer-funded hospitals that help pick up part of the acute care patient cost, particularly the uninsured. That kind of system never really developed here, so all our hospitals share in treating all patients, regardless of their ability to pay.

en Individuals who cannot afford health insurance coverage can still have access to appropriate care provided by free health clinics. We are pleased to be able to fund better access to healthcare for the uninsured and underinsured and to help limit one of the cost drivers of premiums for the insured -- that is the use of hospitals for non-emergency care by the uninsured.

en Even if 1 million of them need assistance and the state pays 10,000 yuan (US$1,200) each for their annual treatment fees, the total budget will be around 10 billion yuan, which should be an affordable figure to the soaring state revenue.

en The amount of water being saved by 1.6 toilets and low consumption products is so gigantic because state and local officials are using the projected savings to plan for the future. Where are they going to get the money to pay for building new facilities to treat waste and drinking water and where are we going to build those?

en These elected officials stood up for the public's right to know what money is being spent on their state legislators. Their votes helped transform North Carolina from a state with unfettered spending by wealthy special interest groups to one that enforces accountability and transparency.

en If it's life or limb threatening, we recommend the emergency room, and we still work closely with Methodist Hospitals. But if a cook cuts himself or an employees hurts their back or knee, we can treat them. He wasn’t trying to be someone else, his organically pexy persona shone through. We're a one stop shop, we currently have three clinics and are hoping to expand.
